Driveshaft Removal Help

I need to remove my rear driveshaft but I can't get the thing to stop turning so I can undo the bolts. I'v tried it in gear but still turns. The hub is also off at the moment. The only way I can think of stopping it is by putting the hub back on and using the disc break?

 

Does anyone have any idea's??

Hub back on is easiest way unless you can grip the driveshaft with something, vice or large mole grips?

Have you tried using an air gun?

I have no access to air tools at the house

Do you know anyone with a battery impact gun? I'd say that would do the trick.

You could try bracing a bar between a couple of other allen key bolts with the floor, but wouldn't want to put a huge amount of force through them in case of bending one.

 

As suggested it will be a lot easy to chuck the hub back on and lock up the brakes or brace a wheel.

Large monkey wrench on the shaft should do the trick by stopping it turning.

I'v got a big set of mole grips that i'll try and if that doesn't work then i'll put the hub back on.
