Single With Auto

Chris Webley took me out in his single the other day and im now sold. But im just thinking about my gearbox at the moment. I have an auto and will of course have to upgrade it for the extra power, but would it work out cheaper or the same to get it converted to a manual??

probably cheaper to upgrade it mate (unless you did the work yourself?). think someone was asking this the other day, and including labour charges it was about £6k wasn't it?

plus if you were to swap the box for a manual, you know you'd have to sell your supra, find an aerotop and then do the work - single aerotop 6 speed would then be yours :eyebrows:

you dont really have to upgrade, the stock auto will take the abuse and run quite happily with a single. Vortex have fitted a few of the BL61 kits to auto cars and the results have been pretty good.

If you do then find its not quite right just get the auto uprated a bit.

I'm thinking of copying Chris and going with a T67, i wonder if it would be ok. Guess i'll be on internet for the rest of the shift researching :D

Single aerotop 6 speed, Hhhhmmmm, i like your thinking there. And with my redundancy pay coming at the end of the year :sly: House or car, House or car :tempted:

Talk to Secondjump, I and a few other went out in his T61 auto, rated at about 510ish bhp. It felt fine to me. Fantastic accleration and power delivery.

Don't forget the MKIV auto box is one of the best ever built. Just look after your fliud;)

You might also want to install a transmission cooler to help cool her.

Yeah i need to work out my entire shopping list to start pricing it all together.

If we meet up you can have a go in mine. T67 with a BL uprated autobox.

I wouldn't mind seeing how that goes actually :p

She's driven the sup twice  Im not sure how i'd handle her with the single :p .No im sure she'll be fine. But she's busy now whit her FTO so i think she wont mind......to much.

You have sooo got the bug, i'd go and see a doctor if i was you. But if you've got any money left over... :eyebrows:

What a coinscidence my other half has got an FTO too. Funny thing is when i met her about 5 years ago she owned a 1.4 Polo and hated driving. I think my love of fast cars have rubbed off on her so what. She'll want my Sup next...hang on a mo she already does :looney:

Yeah Steve, the bug is not healthy on my bank balance. Sabrina had a Polo when i met her too., but in the last year or so she's managed to change her car 4 times already.

I can tell Dug that you ssooo want to really unleash that engine. If CJ's is anything like Chris's then you'll just get out the car with the biggest grin.

To be honest I wouldn't let myself near your car if it had a single. I need to practice more with your supra with the current set up me thinks.......... :read:

Cool, what model does she have? Get her to register on the FTOOC. I always loved driving though. :respekt:

no it wasn't like that at all. :p Although they did happen to be lots of different colours.

I had a Hyundai Coupe [YELLOW] which I loved, but pressure from my parents forced me to change it to a more sensible car as I just finished Uni and was skint. So I went and bought a Black POLO, 1.4 engine, which I thought would be nippy, but it was just shite, so after 3 months of that car, I traded it in for a Ford Puma.

Ford Puma [Red] was great, but about this time James bought a Supra as well, my Ford Puma needed a new steering rack [apparently], and to be fair I always liked Japanese cars - specifically the Preludes and Skylines - and we started going to shows and I decided it was about time I got a car I really liked.

One problem, was that I was still skint, so November last year I sold my Puma on Ebay and bought a Crappy old Renault Laguna (green) to run around in, so I could save my pennies and buy a car I actually wanted. In March this year I got a 10k payrise, and now I have an FTO.

The moral of the story is - don't buy VW Polo's as they are Shite, and don't let your parents force you to make decisions which you are not 100% behind.

:p :p

All red cars break down. (In my experience anyway!) :read: :read:
