2jz pistons for 1jz

Hello i have a question , im building 1jz and i need to buy pistons for first stroke , I have easy access to 2jz pistons, can i use them in 1jz??

I would think the 2jz pistons would be too big as there for a 3 litre not a 2.5. I'm sure one of the other guys will give you a definite answer.

yes you can, 2JZ Pistons should be fine as it's the stroke that differs between the 2,

Pistons have the same size , this 0.5 litre differnece between 2jz an 1.5 is because of height of block. But are they some other differences? Pistons are pretty expensive so i want to be sure

It's possible, for example, that the 1JZ and 2JZ conrods are different lengths, so, if nobody knows for certain, I guess you'd need to check if the 1JZ and 2JZ pistons are the same height above the gudgeon (wrist) pin, if the pins are the same size, and if the 2JZ piston skirt clears the 1JZ crankshaft.

I know the the jap boys are using the 2jz block with a 1jz head that works well.

Yes and im goin to do the same but atm i have to do it with 1jz block , but i have to be sure that i can use 2jz pistons.

If theres any doubt then just get 1JZ pistons.
