Stevo
Trying to separate the 2 plastic parts of the wing mirror and I ain't got the foggiest how to get one of the 'hidden' screws out. Any ideas? With the base twisted, I can reach the first one (see pic 1), but can see a second screw on the adjacent side that is nigh on inaccessible! JODY T
you cant there is a long shaft that goes through the top piece, it is part of the bottom piece of metal.. On the top behind the glass you will find a spring with a retainer on the top holding it all together.. remove this and you wont be rebuilding them as they were pressed on and the spring is v strong etc.. you could mark the shaft where the retainer is, and then get the shaft threaded so you can fit a nut on the top etc but why bother? if its just for spraying spray in the folded position as the pieces both pull apart slightly leaving plenty of room to get a good paint finish.. When its dry fold it back.. Job done.. Edited March 20, 2010 by JODY T (see edit history)
Stevo
Cheers mate. Yeah, was just for spraying but the plastic needs a bit of work too due to fire damage.
