ReNe0
Hey People. I need to change my clutch on my Supra. Is there a easy way to get to gearbox off the engine ? It is af 6 speed. Greetings.
Chris Wilson
Taking the bellhousing bolts out by undoing them is the accepted way Given suitably large power tools and cut off discs opens up a multitude of other options though.
ReNe0
All the bolts are out But im stock now. I cant get the gearbox more than 50 mm from the engine. I think this maybe the problem ? Does this has to come off, before i can continue? http://peecee.dk/uploads/032010/1.jpeg http://peecee.dk/uploads/032010/2.jpeg http://peecee.dk/uploads/032010/3.jpeg
Chris Wilson
Take the release arm out (pull it hard). Then remove all six bolts holding the clutch cover to the flywheel, turning the engine to get at them all. Carefully lever the cover away from the flywheel until it will turn freely on its own. THEN take the gearbox off the engine.

Chris Wilson
No problem, the whole clutch assembly stays on the gearbox input shaft, not on the flywheel. It goes back in the same way. BE SURE to get all the washers and circlips for the release bearing assembly back together properly on the new clutch. I can e-mail a page from the factory manual showing this if you are in doubt, but not until tomorrow.
