How To: Clean Idle Control Valve Cleaning Aka ICV (IAC)

Recommended Posts

Bump. Great article. Just cleaned mine up and testing tomorrow! I found a ratchet screwdriver for the two Phillips screws works best after soaking in WD40 for 10 mins. It's the only way I could get decent leverage on them.

Fingers crossed. Great guide for everyone with idling problems. Thanks to Tomyspeedy for bringing this to my attention ;)

What was the part number you've got for the IACV?

Mine in Xena, the Supercharged V8, is doing the same thing and is a real PITA to drive at the moment.

Managed to get a replacement from the USA at $50 all in. Still waiting for delivery guy to arrive.
