w41k3r
Thinking as there is\was a 1jzgte sitting in the scrap yard near me i might pick it up and do a 1.5jz build and go single on that instead of doing N\A-t. Seems quite common in the U.S just want to see if anyone has done it over here and there experiences

AlexM
Why not just run a 1JZ as it is?
Andy-No-Knee
A 1.5 uses the bottom end of the 2JZ lump and the 1JZ head. Various reasons some real like it give 500ccs more displacement, better low down tourqe, and if you have a 1JZ with a single kit and other add ons you get to keep them and save the cost of having to buy all new ones to fit a 2JZ head. The other reason that used to be given and was found to be wrong is that the Yamaha (1JZ) designed head flowed better than the later Toyota (2JZ) designed head. I'm not sure but the reviness of the 1JZ may be lost when going up to the 2JZ lump.
garethr
I have a link to a 1JZ head on 2JZ-GE block build thread - http://www.initialdrift.com.au/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4169 - but, sadly, the Aussie who built it was killed in a motorcycle accident last year and the pics (and his website) have been lost. Kirk
whats the point... just go 1jz swap job done
w41k3r
Main reason to be different, plus it will cost less for the head for some one D.I.Ying will be easier just to build the head and from what i heard the 1jz is more revy but wether the 2jz bottom end will affect this is another thing. Best get doing my home work as to wether its worth it
