martini
Well, I have bought some indicator cases off eBay and got them all lined up and ready to be fitted, but the bulb is too large for the hole I need a set of facelift looms... or I am going to have to get creative! If you have some, I would love to know about it!

Scott
Easiest way to do it is get 2 drivers facelift looms and getting creative. The passengers side is attached on the facelift anyway so only the drivers side is useful. Get 2 of them and wire them in yourself. It might even be a good idea to make yourself up a couple of plugs so that they are detachable? Might be overkill though.

Scott
That could be quite useful information if you dont want to start chopping up the looms? If you don't have a facelift car it won't make a difference. You still have to cut and shut both the sidelight and the indicator I think what he might be getting at is that the corsa ones will be buttons to buy. Toyota will be a fair bit more
hadyn
I remember reading about this years ago, but what actually stops you from using the stock wiring loom with the facelift lights?
Scott
I remember reading about this years ago, but what actually stops you from using the stock wiring loom with the facelift lights? Facelift lights should be ok. Its indicator looms though. A pre-facelift doesn't have sidelight & indicator in 1 looms.
hadyn
Yeah but if you just want them to be indicators, do you need to change the loom? Will prefacelift bulb holders fit in the facelift indicators?
Scott
Yeah but if you just want them to be indicators, do you need to change the loom? Not sure, don't know anyone that has done that before.
Kirk
see this is where i come in! im fitting them for him but hes not relocating the sidelights! all he wants is the indicators to go in there, thats it but cause there to big for the facelift hole we need to mod
hadyn
So will you be able to use prefacelift indicator bulbs in there? Will save a lot of hassle if you can...
Kirk
no you cant, the pre facelift bulbs are to big for the facelift indicators.

Scott
So will you be able to use prefacelift indicator bulbs in there? Will save a lot of hassle if you can... No, the bulbs don't fit. They are too fat. I had the same issue with my MR2. I just cut the hole open to make it fit
Scott
Right, but you could just wire in a facelift or equivalent bulb holder couldnt you to do the job? Yup, cut the indicator off and then swap it over with the facelift one. Would still need facelift looms.... or the corsa ones mentioned above..... if they fit. Kirk
Right, but you could just wire in a facelift or equivalent bulb holder couldnt you to do the job? indeed! but then again you would need the slimmer bulbs! they supply the facelift indicators with capless amber bulbs hense the need for facelift looms

Scott
Is cutting the hole a viable option on the Supra? Course it is. Its only a set of replica indicators, exactly the same as on the MR2.
Scott
Why would I need facelift looms if I just want the indicators? Going round in circles here. The pre-facelift bulbs & bulb holders are too fat for facelift indicator housings. In order to make them fit you have 2 options... 1 Cut the housing to fit the bulb as it is. 2 Replace the loom with one that fits (Facelift or corsa) Job done. Even if I cut the hole larger on my new indicators, the prefacelift bulb is clear - the housing is Amber. Now, my housing is clear, so I'll need Amber bulbs. They supply Amber bulbs but they don't fit the pre facelift looms. Now I need to either buy Amber bulbs and cut the Indicators to be larger, or buy facelift looms. Thanks for all of the info though guys; makes for interesting reading!
Guest blueangel
Right all you need to do is pop to the local scrapyard get 2 vauxhall corsa side light looms then splice them onto the supra looms by either stripping the wires and soldering or use spade conectors and insulation tape. I did all this on my previous supra but i also spliced into the sidelights and put a second set down in the holders too. If you cant find a corsa just take the lenses with you and try diff cars until you find one that fits.
