Why T
I was wandering that if you put a Facelift diff into a non facelift supra do you need a longer drive shaft or will it be a straight fit?
Homer
That depends on the spec of the it's going into. Can you name the engine and drivetrain on both of them?
JamieP
He wants to put a small type facelift manual TT diff into a pre facelift TT6.

Homer
He wants to put a small type facelift manual TT diff into a pre facelift TT6. Ah, then as he says, it'll need a new back half to the prop and a driveshaft from the facelift 6spd (or auto). It's really not recommended to do this if possible as the facelift ones are not as strong.
Why T
ok thanks homer, so you would sujest a pre facelift auto or maunal diff then?
JamieP
ok thanks homer, so you would sujest a pre facelift auto or maunal diff then? auto and facelift are the same size diffs, plenty people with big power cars (chingy/pig/Ryan) have been running them for a long time with no problems. Why T
ok thanks for your advise guys now i just gotta find someone with a tt diff for sale or who wants to swap for a 2way welded diff lol. Thanks again
Homer
auto and facelift are the same size diffs, plenty people with big power cars (chingy/pig/Ryan) have been running them for a long time with no problems. They are the same casing, but they do not have the same torque handling. The pre-facelift 6spd diff is a different animal to the others, everything in the diff, driveshafts, prop, and even hubs are beefed up on that spec. Many aspects of the facelift spd's were dumbed down. That's not to say they are incapable, just less strong tollerances.
Why T
looks like i want a tt6speed pre facelift then rather than the one i have.

I know they are not as big but a shed load of cars run them with no probs, plenty of facelift single cars on here also.
