Ark
...for that bobbly thing round the rim of a metal pipe that connects to a rubber hose? You know, the thing that stops the hose popping off because a jubilee clip goes tighter round them. And what tools can be used to make such a thing? Kirk
if your refuring to like a metal clip on the end of the hoses and have like 2 little bits sticking up then you squeeze them together with some pliers
Ark
Nah, not spring clips...it's the lumpy bit on the end of the actual metal pipe that the spring clip lodges up against...
AndyT
Think it's the lip around the actual pipe that's being described. Usually part of the casting or original fabrication. Don't know any easy way of making one up though.
Kirk
ooooh right yeah that big! i hope you got a good fabricator
Westcoaster
Is it a pipe "flare" that you mean? In which case you need a pipe flare tool!
AndyT
I suppose, if you're good with welding gear, you could attach a section from a slightly larger pipe.

Ark
Yes - that's it Andy! It must be possible to press a lip into a pipe. Westcoaster - that looks ever so close, but I think it's for bending brake pipes - the guide wheel of the left is concave, not convex.

barneybrendan
normal pipe with swaged ends.you need a swaging machine.basicly opening up the end of the pipe to make it slightly bigger than the rest of thed pipe.
Ark
That's it - a swaging tool. They cost up to £15000! I think I'll give it a miss thanks! Time to come up with a new plan.

Miguel
You need one of these! What, a pipe bender Brendan hit it on the nail, and Jake got the tool.
bignum
The easy way would be to get a welder to run a thin bead of weld around the pipe.
