I will subscibe to the thread and if you haven't sold it (which I am sure you will have) by the time I come back from Florida, we will try and get this sorted.

I am sure I will be able to get my rear bumper off anyway, the only real problem would be the rear spats as they are obviously bonded and would need to be removed by the bodyshop and I am not sure if they open on Saturdays, I will call them tomorrow just to check anyway.

Ok buddy, it may still be available, thanks very much

Right just took these on the iphone so aren't great quality...

The crack in the gel coat:

The scratch on offside underneath:

The damage by exhaust heat, looks quite bad in this pic but you cant notice it with the exhaust in the way, plus fuel will always darken this area anyways...

Obviously if you are collecting you'll be able to check it out first anyways to make sure your 100% happy.

I am waiting for the bodyshop guy to get back to me, as he isn't there today or tomorrow.

I don't think I will be having it though, as the additional cost of fitting will put it above my budget I think for the moment.

Just really bad timing, with me going to Florida, spending money and all that.

I will watch the thread and if I can sort anything my end or find some extra cash, i will be in touch.

This bit around the side that needs bonding... Is it REALLY a bodyshop job or will anyone with half a brain and a tube of Sikaflex be able to sort it out...?

Yes you could do it yourself, you'd just need the correct bonding adhesive and appropriate clamps. I only said a body shop job as they'll have the clamps and bonding gear, plus the experience. But you could do it yourself. I was going to when I put it on originally but the body shop offered.

Damn this is sorely tempting... It's even the right colour! Unfortunately, the rational part of me (which is hidden deeply and only comes out in extreme circumstances...) dictates that the additional £300 is just too much at the moment. Shame.

I'll take £250 if you have OEM spats and the rear bumper :)

Ok no worries mate, it wouldn't be a lot of work for a Bodyshop, just let me know what he says!

Carl I'm thinking about this bumper again...

Do you still have it? If so, do you have the space, etc near to you that would be required to fit it so that we could just do a straight swap and save me stripping my car down at home, loading my rear bumper + spats into the missus' Focus and driving down to you in that?

Oh yeah and something that is (now) vitally important to me - is it a genuine Trial item or a copy?

Its a copy from knight Racer, and we could possibly swap them at the same time, would have to do this around my dads place which is 5mins as he has the room.

Buying a copy or genuine really makes most difference when you have to fit it and prep for paint, as mine is already fitted and painted you can see from the pictures that it is a good fitment.

I have a bumper in 199 silver and replica oem spats sitting on my dinner table, hmmmm, I take it all the mountings are good ? If I was interested would you be able to come to me as I have plenty of space and tools, I don't fancy a drive back from west Sussex with a flapping rear bumper, those side bits will get ripped off.

The side bits are screwed at the front and the bumper wont come off, I ran the car with the side bits unbounded and unpainted for about 2 weeks before it could be sprayed and it was fine.

Where abouts in East Sussex are you...? I would also like to add that once the bumper is off my car I wont take any responsibility if it gets damaged during fitting, it shouldn't, however its a large bumper and could get nicked etc....
