What a morning already.

My supra wont start.

I get all the usual dash board lights come on and you can here a spark. so take it that the spark plugs are working but the car just wont turn over and start.

any one got any ideas?

start motor? If someone knows how much money going to cost to get it repaired?

thanks

I am going to do a search on what is the best battery to get for the supra, hopefully get one from halfords or something. or is that not a good idea?

what about the connectors and terminals on the new battery etc will they fit the jap connectors? if you understand what I mean.

will there be a probably fitting it.

I could also be the contacts on your starter motor solenoid. Tbh if this has happened overnight it's more likely than the battery going.

Either way its almost definetly one of them, can't you temporarily hook another battery up first to check it? :rtfm:

I dont have another battery around. How ever, it is a Jap battery, which I no are rubbish. so its probably a good idea I get a decent battery anyways. and if it dont work after the new battery then, will have to get it looked at.

thanks for the help

I got the Halfords HCB one (that is mentioned in that FAQ I linked to ;) ) and it's great. A good test, by the way, if you think your battery is flat enough to not start the car, is to try your wipers and leccy windows. They will be VERY lethargic :)

Starter motor rarely fails from mine experiance , i think its you battery , just because you can put your window down , does not meen its flat, sounds like not enough charge to turn the starter motor . Else it a bitch to change ... i have a spare jap spec one for £70 from a 54000km car 1996.

it is the starter motor, have had it all checked. and yes it is going to be a bit*h to change for someone.

Not too bad if you use a ramp , the first starter ive heard failing , check the connectors (if youve got a ramp) !!!!

Dude :taped:
