Stephen G
Was in a large local car breakers today who have quite a few TVR,s breaking which are fitted with some very nice and big AP brakes. Was just wondering has anyone in the club tried to put the brakes off one onto a supra. Would they be much of a improvement over my uk brakes or would it be a waste of time and money. RobSheffield
Unlikely to be a huge improvement, especially if you run decent pads, fluid and braided lines. The cost of buying the discs, calipers, pads and desgning and making the bracketry i would imagine would outweigh buying a BBK from AP or Brembo in the first place. Wez
I was reading about the LS400 brakes as an alternative to UKs as an upgrade from jspec, they are 4pot like the UK/US but slightly smaller.
Kranz
Ask Muffleman at AFR, as they have both TVRs and Supras under the same roof

I did this, very good, especially for the money. The only problem is finding pads.

Got the calipers of an LS400 that was being broken for £50, alloy 4 pots and pretty chunky. The discs are standard lexus items as are the pads. Thats all you need. I'll get some pics up tomorrow if anyone wants. The only thing that you have to do is remove a small amount of alloy from the caliper as it fouls on the caliper bracket, its not structural (IMO) and its a tiny amount of the edge. The discs are 315mm and 28mm thick. The calipers are massive in comparison to the jspecs and weigh a lot less, however the discs offset the majority of the weight saving as they're very heavy. I dont have much experience of UK's but in comparison to the jspecs its night and day especially at motorway speeds.
