I'm looking at doing some off-roading/Green laning, however i'm just a little curious about a few things?

Is it possible to have a road legal jeep, with off-roading wheels/tyres?

Are all off-roading tyres ilegal/legal? why?

It's just i'm looking at a jeep with offroad wheel/tyres with an mot etc, however i'm just wondering if the tyres are for off-road use only becuase of the ride/wear you'll get, or if there's a legal reason for it?

Hope that kind of makes sence?

thanks

I cant testify to how good BF Goodridge are,

I had mud terrains on my Range Rover and they survived driving to and from Morocco inc a month of serious offroading around Morocco.

Very impressed with them :)

BFG All terrains are also a very good option

this is my offroader :)

Those things are phenomenal. I did some of the fabrication drawings for the cab on the Carmicheal one back in '96 and the spec was scary.

Fully laden they weigh about 60 tonnes and will pull 0-60 in 30 seconds iirc.

Monster 1000bhp 2-stroke Detroit deisel engine. My first thought was 'that'd make one hell of a bring-ding-ding ding noise', lol.

So i'm on the search again...

Only looking at spending peanuts, as i have the ultima for my real fun days :-) - i just thought an off-roader would be fun as well...

The search continues......

What sort of price are they? A mate of mine swears by the all terrains he has on his tomb raider but I think they are relatively expensive.

I cant really help with the price as my trip to Morocco was back in 2000, i was very impressed with them to say the least as we covered a lot of miles and only suffered 1 puncture and got stuck once in deep sand, although that was due to me wimping out jumping a sand dune as i backed off the gas pedal too early:D

just done a search and found this place
