JamesF Posted February 26, 2009 Author Share Posted February 26, 2009 Dipped the fluid and it was between notches 3 and 4 (4 being highest). Ill try again when its stone cold. Park on level ground, run the engine while you put the box in every gear through neutral, twice. With the engine running check the fluid level. Swampy442 Posted March 3, 2009 Share Posted March 3, 2009 Also its unlikely the torque converter is biffed, its just a big hydraulic pump. If anything itll be the clutch packs toasted or the fluid is shot. If its anything other than red it needs changing. Any burnt smells indicate issues.
