Hi all !

Cars been of the road since mid october, due to suspension troubles/weather etc.etc. duing this time i've started her up around twice a week , bought a solar trickle charger , seemed to have held the charge during that cold spell we had :),so on the weekend i decided to give her a major clean/polish the works.(by the way, car is off the road in garage )

to my horror  i noticed my car tax ran out 31/10/09 !!

i was not sent a reminder in the post, and totally didn't think of checking it is now 24/02/09 coming up to 4 mth's without tax and no SORN filled out !

Any way of getting around this or have i got to pay up for the mth's i've lost !! gutted :(

any suggestions :Pling:

Have you checked the car is definitely registered in your name? It's very odd that they wouldn't give you a reminder.

I'd expect a fine in some form, my cousin was several weeks late with renewing his tax and he received a fine over a year later!

If your SORN it you will not be charged for the missing months. In fact, even if you tax it they shouldn't charge you if you do it at the post office.

As has been mentioned, best to check your V5 and ensure your correct name and address is on it.
