how_supra
I think I've broken my car - I got stuck in the mud - and managed to get myself out, but now I don't think my gear box is engaging. Help
MrRalphMan
If it's not engaging, how did you get out of the mud. What seems to be the issue?
how_supra
I can't now move it, I don't think the wheels are now even turning - the engine is reving but nothings happening
Pete
I think we need a little more info. Did you get yourself out of the mud by brute power or drag it out with a tractor? Could there be lumps of Earth under your car blocking mechanisms? How does the clutch feel? Do the gears engage? I wonder if you've killed the clutch. MrRalphMan
Did you have to slip the gearbox a lot to get out of the mud? If so you might have boiled the gearbox oil, auto I assume, and thus lost drive. Try to leave it to cool off, but you might have damaged the gearbox. how_supra
I think it's all ok, about 10 people just turned up and pushed me along, I can now go backwards and forwards and all the gears feel like they are engaging properly.

Initally I was revving it in second, then I stopped, got some cardboard and wood, reversed onto the cardboard, and drove forward onto the wood, so I could have less slippery surface

chris2o2
Lesson learnt here - Mud and supra's do not mix Do you have a local friendly garage ? Maybe worth going down and having them have a quick look over the car ?
how_supra
I think it was just the ice, I can't get out of my driveway, the part leading up to my drive is completely blocked by another car which is stuck inthe ice. I slid into the mud, thanks to the ice......
