Big Mark
Can I tax my car despite not yet having it registered in my name as I'm still waiting for V5 to come through from DVLA, tax is due at the end of the month? If I take my copy of the V5 (the piece I got from previous owner), driving licence and insurance certificate to the post office will I be ok? Aero-M
Yes that will be fine, The little slip is used until you get the full V5

Al Massey
according to the dvla website the green slip isnt enough but most post offices take it mate
Rajinder
The Post Office will only tax the car on V5C/2 (the green bit) if the transfer of the ownership is within two months. Also MOT certificate is not needed as it is on line these days.
