Expect to see the price of imports rise soon as existing stock is cleared and dealers have to buy at the new exchange rate. Stuff from Japan is going to be particulary expensive, everything from TV's to car parts.

that cant be true as a few years ago it was expensive to buy imports and thats why there wasnt so many about

look at it now there hundreds knocking about

When I said imports, I mean't all imported goods and not just "imports" as in cars.

Yes I agree, cars have dropped in value in recent years and a strong GBP and weak Yen meant increased exports to the UK. Unfortunately this meant a lot of cheap and nasty crap from the auctions also found it's way over which depreciated the market further. Now though the value of the pound has dramatically fallen, which means everything here costs more to buy, and in turn costs more to import.

I have a couple of mates here that export cars and tuning parts and business is rather slow at the moment... Likewise I have a couple of mates in the UK that would like to come here for a holiday, but with a pint of Stella averaging 7.60 in my local, let alone a Tokyo nightclub, they're not exactly in a rush....:D
