Fujitsu Siemans Laptop

Hi guys, just got a second hand Fujitsu - Siemans .. Amilo Laptop running on Vista O/S and was wondering how u make the screen brighter. There is a blue Fn key and the F keys have various pics on including a brightness pic but it dosn't seem to do anything when the Fn key is pressed along with the picture key.

 

Not being a laptop person ... wondered if anyone could help... Thanks

Hopefully somebody knows a way, but I bought one of those for my Dad and the screen is just very dim. I dont think anything can be done about it. Possibly one of the poorer screens I have seen on a laptop.

Check its running the correct driver.

 

Ensure its not running off the battery

 

Try dimming it to see if the keys are working

Check the above and then look at the power settings in the control panel to make sure they aren't set to have it dim. Having said this I just tried the Fn-F7 combo on my own Fujitsu and it worked OK.

 

XP SP3 though rather than Vista.

Checked the power settings and there didn't seem to be a dim setting but there was a brightness and contrast that was set to full. Tried the Fn and brightness buttons but they didn't seem to work either up or down. Seem to be at a loss at the moment.
