Guest alib
Help I need to remove the rear upper wishbones from my mk4 supra. the bushes are worn so it's a bit loose on the back end. once removed i'm going to make a judgment if to replace the bushes or buy complete arms. My problem is i had a looksey last night and where the wishbones are attached to the rear subframe it appears to be vurtually impossible to get access to undo the bolts that go through the bushes; Has any one got any tips? does the rear subframe need to be dropped to gain access? does it need to be done on a ramp? any tips would be gratefully recieved. SupraShaun
I managed to do mine jacked up on the drive, they are done up tight as hell through so you will need a breaker bar or something like that to undo them.
Guest alib
thanks, did you manage to get a spanner on the nut end of the nut an bolt?
Dnk
I've changed all the wishbones on my car but did this on a 4 post ramp which definetly makes life easier, they are very tight and doubt you'll budge them without a breaker bar and a piece of tube on that to get more leverage. We didnt drop the subframe but being on the ramp def helped. Are you sure its the upper arms that are knackered ? my lower arms were in much worse condition than the uppers on both the front and rear ! Replaced the lot with O/E from Toyota, my lower arms didnt have any play in them but were siezed on the eccentric adjusters ! Had to cut them off in the end to be able to adjust the front and rear cambers. Edited November 10, 2008 by Dnk (see edit history)

miko_supra
If you do drop the subframe its not too bad a job. Just dont try and remove the abs sensors (if you have them) as they are impossible. Just disconnect them from the loom inside the car
