RedM
I picked up Valve's Orange Box pack today as Sainsburys were doing it for £20. Got it home and needed to enter the reg key but it was nowhere to be found on the packaging. A quick look on the net reveals that I am missing a quick start/instruction card that has the key printed on it. Now, what am I entitled to if Sainsburys can't find the card? As it's essential to register with Steam before you even get to install the games I'd say that means a full refund. Then again, most places don't offer refunds on PC games because of pirating issues. Do I have to settle for a credit if that's all they offer?
Mike
Lots of places are making you take a credit note.. but this being Sainsburys they'll probably just swap it for another one. I bet their staff wouldn't know the difference.
Homer
You will get a replacement, the supermarkets (and most shops)won't argue it you produce a receipt, they're not paid to care (edit) BTW: It's a great game, lots of places to run around in (though it's very linear) and very cool visuals and immersion if you're the type that likes to get "involved" in a game
RedM
I've already played HL2 on Xbox but I'm looking forward to E1 and E2 plus Portal. I hope they have the cards and haven't just binned them! I can't find it for £20 anywhere else. I bought Tomb Raider: Legend and Tomb Raider: Anniversary too. Dirt cheap and fun. The missus was watching over my shoulder when the camera got 'stuck' looking at Ms. Croft's nether regions!

As Zavvi keep the manuals in the cases and dont seal them. took it back and got my money back as they had sold out.

Sainsburys swapped it for a sealed copy that has the flyer in it and the key is printed on there. No fuss, no drama. That's what I love about Sainsburys. You wouldn't get that in Mozzers or Asbo. RedM
After all that I can't install it until the weekend. It needs a HUGE amount of updates apparently and I'm not doing that until I get into my off-peak time!
MrRalphMan
That's what I like about Steam, regular updates.. Although if you haven't played for a few weeks (or months) and you fancy a quick game you have to wait a while for the updates to come down.
