monkey76364
I have just found that my front suspension needed looking at, so I took it in to be checked over, I have been informed that it needs new shocks, but they will replace the whole unit. is this right??? Plus what would be the cost for new parts on this for a J-Spec non Turbo Auto ???
Zed
Who told you they will replace the whole unit, was it a Toyota dealer ? Also, what do they mean, the spring as well ? There's probably quite a few people on here who have old suspension setups left over from upgrades who will sell all four shocks for pretty reasonable money, just post up in the wanted section. Hope this helps.
monkey76364
Nah it was the gargage i got the car through not Toyota. To be honest i havent had a chance to look over it myself yet. They recon about 115 for each ??? springs dampers ect... would this be resonable. To be honest the garage is good and have never had any probs with them. I will have a look at what people have going too, thanks.
tbourner
Can't see why the springs would need changing. You can get yellow Bilsteins for £115 each!!!
Nic
Are the shocks that are on it stock Toyota ones? If it has aftermarket coilovers fitted already then they would need to replace the whole thing, but as has already been said, if they are just stock then you should be able to just replace the shocks. monkey76364
well i thought they were standard stock shocks and springs, but some one on here the other day said that it looked lowered, so im looking into that too, but getting home in time for the day light at the moment is proving hard lol !!! weinelm
If they are standard shocks then J spec ones from Toyota are £56 + VAT (each) - which I reckon is pretty good value! Personally, at that price I wouldn't put second hand ones on.
Terminator
Cant understand why they want to change the springs. DOH they want to feel you wallet.
