Hello all,

 

Just a quick one I that this head unit in my J spec Supra it has got Sat Nav to. how much do you think it is worth. Estimate just so I know what I can sell it for roughly to get some money on it as it aint going to work over here.

Before you rush into selling it, there was a post on here a while ago explaining how a Jap Sat Nav system can be converted to read UK maps.

 

I'll dig around the site. If I find it I'll post it.

 

Can anyone remember this thread?

 

If you want to sell it though, I wouldn't let it go for less than £200.

oh well if I can get it to work then great. can anyone help.

 

The head unit will still have to be changed though wont it as the radio bands are different. i.e I wont be able to get Kiss 100 etc.

 

is that correct?

You can get a band converter to deal with the Radio, Matt Harwood is the man to speak to!

you get a band convertor, but the frequency range is narrower on the jap stuff, e.g. we have 88.9 to 107.9, they have for example 70.9 to 80.9.

 

So you get a band shifter that drops the received frequency by, say 18mhz, so your jap radio will then do 88.9 to 98.9.

 

That's the theory anyway, not sure of the exact figures. It also means that your radio would (in the above example) be showing 80.9 on its display when it's playing Radio 1 (98.9).
