hoff
Im looking at getting some Tein super streets for my NA but have been told that Tein say that for an NA they may require differant springs, at an added cost. I dont see why this would be, does anyone know. If anyone has them on their NA did you have to have the other spring and if not did you have any issues with them? Also is it worth getting the top mounts? Im on running on 19s at the moment but may go back down to 18s soon. Thanks:)
Animal
I've been running the super streets for a couple of years now with the springs that came with them and not had any issues with them at all.
Bossco
The tein website has NA super street's listed with the price showing no extra cost. I had SS on my NA's for 2 years and there fine.
hoff
Thanks guys. I just got this email from Tein: Hi Adam Thanks for your mail. My advice is to go back to the dealer to get the full story. The issue is not so much the fitting. The mounting points and damper size will be the same, the difference between the cars is weight and distribution of this weight. The NA car is lighter and so needs softer springs. Additional springs with a coilover kit are GBP50.00 + vat per pair. However, if you feel that you can get the correct balance and height set up with the kit as we supply it, then there is no need to purchase additional springs. Please go back to the dealer in question to clarify this fact. So what do we think? Go for the stright set or the alternative springs? hoff
I suppose the available drop is more of the issue as you can adjust the damping and rebound?
Bossco
Mine is still on it's normal TEIN NA super streets. When they were 1st fitted i had them on the lowest thread and the car was decked. If it the available drop your worried about then dont, I'm sure they will give enough drop for you.
hoff
Thanks Bossco:) I only want to drop it 10 - 20mm max anyway. And want the ride to be stiff but not throwing me all over the place on the bumps;)
Bossco
When I had mine on the lowest thread it was far to low. My bumper just say got over speed bumps but my exhaust would scrape. I've found theres about a 6 thread difference in the fronts to the rears to keep the car level. My fronts are 3 full threads of the bottom and my rears are 9 off bottom. It's as low as I can live with. I have them set very hard but I like it that way. To be honest setting the dampers in the middle is still much much firmer that stock.
