tooquicktostop
I have had them both, the T04R is as already said a non DBB and is older technology, it spools a little later so is a bit more laggy, the T04Z is a DBB turbo and spools very quickly for a mid sized turbo, I would still have a T67DBB instead as it is a lot cheaper
supra dan
thanks guys didnt think of the DBB option. is the TO4 still a good turbo then, even tho its old tech? just saw a used kit for sale, thought it was good and a reasonable price
tooquicktostop
Its a good turbo mate, it will make 600 BHP with the right mods I have a graph here of mine, its not the best quality but you might get the idea with the spool, I had a boost leak so this was not at full potential http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/7/20617370022.jpg

tooquicktostop
yes i think that would do is your engine on standard internals? That engine was yes except for 264 ex cam, that engine is no more however
supra dan
that engine is no more however due to the extra power do you think?
tooquicktostop
due to the extra power do you think? No, but you really dont want to open that can of worms, the stock bottom end of the engine will be ok with this turbo as long as the supporting mods are all in place

Nic
thanks guys didnt think of the DBB option. is the TO4 still a good turbo then, even tho its old tech? The Garrett T-04Z and HKS T-04Z are not old tech, they are very new models. The T-04R is an older non-DBB version.
