fizzle
a letter came thru from the old bill to our work saying a vehicle from our firm had been involved in a collision, on 26th feb. it was a van that we had hired, but no-one is owning up 2 it and there is no damage at all on the van. the police are asking for the name of the driver but as our boss is a complete dickhead and has no idea how to run a company, has not kept any record of who had the van. so he has decided to put everyones name on the form they sent. i dont want to be liable for anyone elses blunder, can they do anything about it, surely cant punish everyone???? Golddigga
Just a thought - can you prove that you didn't drive it that day?

wile e coyote
i think you will find it is the responsibility of your boss to provide proof or he will take the rap Yes its down to your boss but if you can prove it was not you even better
Thorin
Yes it's down to your boss if the hire company or your company cannot say who was driving at the time. With my last employer you were supposed to enter into a book every time you took one of the vans out so that they could prove who was driving at the time... I'm sure you can guess what actually happened.
fizzle
i cant actually prove it wasnt me, no logs are kept, 3 of us have our own vans, but we also drive others... he has sent this form back with 4 names on it (not his own) to the police. will they just refuse it? i hope he has to take the blame he's such a bellend!!! Guest dangerousandy
I work for National car Rental and when things like this happen, the company will supply the name of the person who is named as the driver (not hirer) on the Rental Agreement

I doubt he's actually done that - he's probably just trying to put the frighteners on you. (You didn't tell him or any of the others that he would be liable did you?) b. If push comes to shove, deny it with all your breath and make him come up with proof it was you. He won't be able to (but has to by law) and will be liable again. adnanshah247
dude, RELAX, they cant do shyt, court will need proof that you were driving. bottom line is your boss is in charge. if he doesnt know who it was, hes guna get the slaps on the wrist by law hes fully liable of what happens in the company. just make sure you keep something on the side that proves it wasnt you so that if he pushes it was you, you can prove it wasnt making him a lying scum bag and he will get the rap for it. Mrs H
We had a funny situation with a car our company had on hire, we got a letter from an insurance company claiming we had been involved in an accident and that our driver ( a name we had never heard of) was liable. Luckily we keep very detailed fleet & mileage records and could prove that at the time of incident the vehicle was locked in our yard. Turns out it was a cloned number plate! I'm responsible for our fleet, yes big fines if you can't say who was driving what vehicle and when! Vicki x
