Conrad
Yesterday I became an uncle when my brother and his girlfriend had a baby girl named Alissa May. My brother (like me) has very pale skin and blue eyes, his girlfriend however is black. We were all very surprised yesterday to find that Alissa has blue eyes. IMO I think that's really cool for a black/mixed race kid. A few people are telling us that all babies have blue eyes when born and over a few months will turn to their real colour. Anyone know if this is true? I could understand it in a white child but a half caste kid? Any ideas?
Scott
I think sometimes it can happen but not always. A little off topic but all cats are born with blue eyes, they change over time. A kids eyes can change not long after birth but not always.
Chris Wilson
They might change, I don't know much about babies! All dogs and cats are born with blue eyes, all ratites are, some reptiles are. Josef Mengele succeeded in genetically engineering negro couples to give birth to kids with blue eyes that stayed that way.

Anyway, asked the Wife as she as an "early years worker" and she said that most babies are born with blue eyes. Its all got to do with some pigment or something or other. Around 70% iirc. There is a chance the colour will change during the first 6 months so you will know soon enough
skim41
Eyes of kids also change to their real colour. I always thought/knew that brown is superior in chromosomes.
