Ewen
http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30200-1314892,00.html A head-on crash on wide open salt flats. Cant of been an accident surely. Tragic outcome, but really strange circumstances.
Havard
I would imagine they have been travelling at a fair old speed and done the old "swerve left, swerve right" thing were you both go the same way and cancel each other out! Shocking though!! H.
Ewen
Target fixation maybe. I get that sometimes on my bike...as soon as I see a tree stump or rut I should really try not hitting, I try so hard to avoid it I ride straight into it. Even so, its a salt-flat for gods sake, takes some doing.

I've been taught that when skidding/skid practicing you should look at where you want the car to point, so if the car is sideways and you want it pointing 90 degrees to the left so it's going the proper way down the road, you need to turn your head and make an extra effort to actually look where you want the car to be. It seems weird at first, actually turning your head so much, but it does help.

Shocking though!! H. Most likely. There was a similar plane crash where the crash avoidance system on the two planes were correct but one of the pilots followed the instructions given by air traffic control. Tragic.
