Nah, we're heading out 24-29 July.

When you say the track is fully open, does that include the GP section as well?

I have read about 'car friday' (and watched a couple of pretty poor videos), but can't really see the difference from a typical weekend date (except it's even busier??). What happens? :)

yes I think on this selected day during the year they open the full track!

... but I think i saw somewhere that you either need a season ticket or you have to be a member of the track club (something like that).

I could be wrong however !

Have you been to the Ring before? I love it there. I don't like it so much when it's ultra-busy so think I'd avoid car friday.

if you're nearby(?) then why not come down and meet us when we're over in July? There are 11 cars heading over from the UK, most are Supras - plus maybe a few joining us out there. :D

Steve..... I have a ball-park date so far ...but we are still leaving it as a last minute booking type of thing.

We are thinkiing of 2nd week in July when the Truck Grand Prix is on..... did the same weekend last year and it was much qieter than the usual. So plenty of track time :)

And the move to China is still on. ... :) The track in Shanghai emailed me back for me to go for an interview ! (So heading over there early May).

Cool - who's paying the travel costs? ;)

Like last year with the Truck GP, I'm hoping the track will be quiet when we're there in late July this year as the DTM is on. Tempted to go sneak a peek actually.

Steve - There is a nice little view point where you can see over into the F1 track. Not many people know about it.

If you head up the hill from the track entrance roundabout.... and continue into the village of Nurburg.... you will come to a fork in the road. Go right and then you will eventually come to a bridge..... it is where the Norschliefe passes over.

Now just before the bridge is a pathway that goes up to the right.

If you walk up there and onto the grass banking you get a nice view of the F1 track... you are able to see the final three corners I think it is.

As it is not within the GP Circuit boundary it is free.

I went up and watched some of the DTM last time.... and also some of the Truck GP on the last visit.

(I'm paying for my China trip :(..... its ok actually because I am turning it into a small holiday.... I'll be there for a week and I am to stay with my girlfriend who lives in Shanghai)
