I have the same problem. I have two parcels which weigh less than 5 kgs but one is almost a meter long as I want to properly protect the rad cover. Interparcel want over £30. Can anyone recommend anyone else? It's to Cork City.

Why not try Parcelforce? They can insure the items.

I sent something which is just under a metre long and over 2000g in weight to southern Ireland and it was very pricey to go with my courier, they told me the Royal Mail would be cheapest so I took it there and it was.

Royal Mail have quoted around £32 for the pair

Thats because you don't have an account ;)

I'm saying in general. Try and see if theres a local courier in your area (independant) that uses them?

True, I'm not knocking what you say Gaz, just amazed by the diffence in their pricing.

I used Interparcel to deliver to N/I.

Parecel was about 1 meter by 30cm width and 16kg. It cost £30 ish i think!

I couldnt find anyone else cheaper!

I think the problem is that I'm sending them to Southern Ireland.
