mkirby
'Conference and events management' from the looks of the 3rd paragraph. aye from the sound of it they either sell for conference centres or they have certain events that they will sell advertising and sponsers to. my mate now does this, his dad owns a company that does all the home cinema and hifi shows so they get the likes of panasonic and pioneer to sponser the shows and hire out the nec etc
far
Might be interested. How much OTE in year 1, 2 and 3....realistically? Year 1 ote = 40k yr2 = 50k yr3= 60k ...as the job spec explains, essentially we 1) put together industry forums (conferences) in various vertical markets (Government, retail banking, Media etc....) . 2) We invite the top decision makers such as CIO's Ceo's, heads of IT etc to discuss topical issues in their industry in a 5 star country house - everything is completely free for them - wine tasing, 5 course dinner, lunch, golf, accommadation etc etc + they get to meet their peers 3) We then sell contact meetings to the likes of Cisco, Siemens, Microsoft (partners) etc etc - the people who provide CRM, ERP etc solutions - as we have a captive audience who make purchasing decisions the seller has maximum exposure to potential customers - the job role is selling this concept to the partners does that make sense? BTW 250 pounds of gift vouchers of your choice if you put someone who you know forward for this vacancy and they are successful I have a few contacts still in the UK who may be interested and will let them know of the vacancy. If you ever have a need to subcontract any work that can be done offshore, let me know. The labour rates out here and very favourable

tbourner
No there isnt - legally there cant be. Why do you ask? My dad could do it; he's been manager of a corporate hospitality company, ran a London based corporate hospitality business with a partner (who screwed him over), been in sales all his life - previous job was crappy food sales door to door!! Trouble is, he's just retired. Struggling with money because of bad judgement going into self employed positions and cash in hand! Not sure if he'd be interested because it's in London though, he's done the long commuting thing too many times. Just wondered if he'd be 'allowed'.
