carl0s
Anybody? I understand the cable stuff well enough, but we're not cabled in our new area/house. We can't get a good analog TV or DVB-T (Freeview) signal here, so it's going to have to be satellite. I realise I can pick up various premium-ish channels from the foreign satellites such as Astra-whatever and Hotbird, but are these channeles (Cartoon Network, History, others etc.) broadcast in English on these German/Spanish/Italian/Dutch networks? I am thinking along the lines of a Technomate TM9100 Super, a Sky Freesat card for the UK freeview type stuff, and hopefully some Satan keys for the rest from foreign satellites. Is anybody into this stuff? I'd rather not have to get into motorised dishes and I know it's *just* possible to have a two or three LNB setup on a single dish picking up enough good satellites, but I don't know if there's any point. I'm not interested in picking up the football, just English good channels.
imi
http://www.lyngsat.com/freetv/United-Kingdom.html for astra 1 and hotbird a single dish with dual lnb pointing at these two would work (special lnb bracket). if you need to home into other satellites further apart on the horizon then a motorised dish is required. I do have one for sale with an echostar 3000ip digital + analog decoder.
carl0s
It doesn't actually say if those are English speaking channels though.. do you think that's what it means, or just that they're receivable in England? I've found a TM9100 locally so I'm going to pick that up today The fun begins. You wouldn't believe the earache I used to get everytime I flashed new firmware and started pissing about with the cable Dreambox Thanks Imi
