gaz1
seen a few posts on full harness rather than seat bets, are they legal, are there alternatives
flukey-lukey
yes they're legal. mine passed an MOT with 3 point harnesses in and no front seatbelts. I once got pulled by the plod when I was wearing a harness for 'not wearing a safety belt'. I then showed him my ultra safe harnesses and he was happy
tooquicktostop
I had a set of harnesses in my R32 and I found them to be a real pain and used the seatbelt most of the time, they are very restrictive and I found myself having to undo them a lot at car park barriers and the Dartford crossing etc as it fixes you right back in the seat, my girlfriend really hated them as well as she felt a right lemon putting them on , great for spirited driving however
gaz1
are they readily available for the supra, or are they universal also how do the fit in the supe seatbelt bolts:search:
colsoop
Gaz i would keep your seatbelts attched for everyday use. Harnesses really effect your range of movement in the seat, fine on the track but on the road you really need to see all your blind spots fully. Buy a harness bar and attach the harness to that. Search for sparco harness bar.
Gerry
Had them in my Westfield (as do most) agree with above, great for driving but a pain at other times. Best 20 seconds of fun ever, watching my mate try to get out of his when the car went up in flames and there was fire coming out of every side of the bonnet - he was hitting every bit of the belt except the release We were both OK, but the poor car wasn't
Blackie
i can imagine they will end up being a massive pain in the ass putting on all the time
Sean1933
I had them in my last supra butdrivers side only, and will be putting my Sparco's in my current supra when i get around to it. I like them because...well i know it sounds sad but i felt 'one with the car'...pinned in Its not your daily driver anyway is it?
Kranz
How about fitting both??? A lap/diagonal for going to the shops & a 3 or 4 point for FUN I'm sure that the bolts at the sill and trans tunnel ends can accomodate 2 bolt in belt ends??? Gazboy
Loathsome things. My mate had them in 5 of his cars and they were just a complete pain in the arse- a CGLock is the best compromise.

hiten55
i had harnesses in my last car. all i can say is thank god i kept the standard seat belts in too. the harnesses are dangerous when joining a motorway from a slip road as you cant check your blind spot - so i just had to floor it and hope for the best :D
Gord R
Id only ever use them on track , real pain on the road. Id keep your normal belt for road use , and if your thinking of doing trackdays etc, stick some eye bolts in so you can just put the harnesses in when you need them.
