midriff reduction

I've always been of slim build, tall and can still look good in a suit :D

 

...do a bit of cycling, hit 30 in the summer and it seems like I also hit a fat switch! - my usual low/average amount of exercise and 'normal' diet seems to have worked so far but I cant help noticing its getting harder to keep trim. Any 30 Plus guys out there who have noticed this?

 

Whats the quickest way to start loosing weight mainly around the midriff?

My diet is pretty good and has been pretty much the same - or are you saying one should change their diet as they get older?

Your digestive system has probably slowed up making weight gain easy.

I suggest you try Higher natures "supergest" that makes a difference for pretty much everyone.

Get yourself a pull up bar from ebay @ about £15 that goes into a doorframe, use it morning and night pulling your knees up as you chin up. You'll have a much better shape in a few weeks and the gut will certainally be tighter.

Stay off Chinese food and the like, keep it more simple meals, and give the system an easy time. Also spend less time on here and the TV.

im no nutritionist but i guess your motabilsm canges with age. i can easily eat 4000+ cals a day and not put on fat yet a guy in work (45yrs old) only has to look at a pie to get fat.

i know that a few years down the line i wont be able to get away wit or need to consume so many calories

Bloody hell - I remember when I used to be able to eat whatever I wanted and still be skinny - I think 2500 cals is what the RDA for a man

Its not possible to 'spot reduce' but men hold excess weight primarily around their waists. You say your diet and activity levels have stayed the same but what about your alcohol intake? Has that increased?

 

Try a different sport or increase the intensity of the excercise you take as you could be hitting a bit of a plateau with your body grown used to your typical routine.

Hmm interesting...maybe I just need to do more exercise, its just getting the time...what about them electric belt things you can wear that give you shocks are they any good?

finding time is always an issue. As we get older our priorities change and there always seems to be something more important to do. If you can find some activity you enjoy, which requires intensity, and can do 2 or 3 times a week, make time for it because you'll reap the benefits as you see positive changes in your body and regular exercise in itself increases your energy levels ;)

 

Basically, if your eating more calories than your body can use up, you will put on weight. Adjust the balance and you'll be fine :)

You'll find its like Linda just said. Your life changes into your thirties. You get a car and pretty much drive to the corner shop now when you used to walk. You are now in a postion of management instead of the dogsbody so at work all day you sit down instead of running around all the time. Time to do anything is vastly reduced by your daily responsibilities. Hence you don't have the luxury of allowing yourself the hour or more a day to go to the gym you do in your teens and early twenties. Also you never get time to shop properly (this is the killer when it comes to eating properly, you can't eat what you didn't buy). so all in all mid life mid spread happens.

 

I at least can blame my beer consumption for now. When I get back I won't be able to afford beer anymore and so will have to lose a bit of midriff. Back to the 4 mile runs 3 times a week I guess.

wise words DB, i've kinda been running multiple businesses for some time now so I've always been running around and managing, and the property development can be pretty physical at times....thinking about it since I've been working on other projects I have been outsourcing the physical parts of property development to someone else so your example is pretty valid....I will just need to spend some time exercising I guess, like my dad keeps saying making money is great but I cant buy good health
