Bugger, I am almost certain that A copper with a laser gun pointing at me driving downhill caught me doing 45 in a 30. I could quite have possibly been doing 50 :( my mind was elsewhere wanting to get home.

To be honest I am not quiet sure what the actual speed limit is of this road, but I think all roads are 30mph unless otherwise stated. This particular road isnt in a built up area and has no street lighting so I've no idea if that makes a difference or not.

Ah well, I will have to take whatever I get coming to me! I am 32 and never had points on my license before!

Hmm!!

If you have got caught at 45 in a 30 I reckon it's 3 points and a £60 fine!

If you we doing 50 then I reckon 6 points and higher fine courtesy of the court!

When I got done for 59 in a 30 I got 6 points and a £68 fine as I told them I was skint. This was 12 years ago though!!;)

I thought they had to pull you over with a speed gun but not with portable cams.

Nope, you can report someone on index. There's no requirement to stop a driver at the time of the offence. Instead of writing a ticket, a process report book is written however, the notes must be written as soon as is reasonably practicable and the events must be fresh in the officers mind. ;) and then a notice of intended prosecution will be sent to the registered keeper. This must be issued within 14 days from midnight on the day after the offence.

Guess you'll have to wait 2 weeks to see if anything occurs.
