Dear Sir/madam/automated telephone answering service Having spent the past twenty minutes waiting for someone at Leith police station to pick up a telephone I have decided to abandon the idea and try e-mailing you instead. Perhaps you would be so kind as to pass this meassage on to your colleagues in Leith by means of smoke signal, carrier pigeon or ouji board. As I'm writing this e-mail there are eleven failed medical experiments (I think you call them youths) in West Cromwell Street which is just off Commercial Street in Leith. Six of them seem happy enough to play a game which involves kicking a football against an iron gate with the force of a meteorite. This causes an earth shattering CLANG! which rings throughout the entire building. This game is now in it's third week and as I am unsure how the scoring sytem works, I have no idea if it will end any time soon. The remaining five walking abortions are happily rummaging through several bags of rubbish and items of furniture that someone has so thoughtfully dumped beside the wheelie bins. One of them has found a saw and is setting about a discarded chair like a beaver on speed. I fear that it's only a matter of time before they turn their limited attention to the bottle of calor gas that is lying on it's side between the two bins. If they could be relied on to only blow their own arms and legs off then I would happily leave them to it. I would even go so far as to lend them the matches. Unfortuneatly they are far more likely to blow up half the street with them and I've just finished decorating the kitchen. What I suggest is this. after replying to this e-mail with worthless assurances that the matter is being looked into and will be dealt with, why not leave it until the one night of the year (probably bath night) when there are no mutants around then drive up the street in a panda car before doing a three point turn and disappearing again. This will of course serve no ther purpose than to remind us what policemen actually look like. I trust that when I take a clawhammer to the skull of one of these throwbacks you'll do me the same courtesy of giving me a four month head start before coming to arrest me. I remain sir, your obedient servant ????????? Mr ??????, I have read your e-mail and understand you frustration at the problems caused by youth playing in the area and the problems you have encountered in trying to contact the police. As the Community Beat Officer for your street I would like to extend an offer of discussing the matter fully with you. Should you wish to discuss the matter, please provide contact details (address / telephone number) and when may be suitable. Regards PC ??? ????????????? Community Beat Officer Dear PC ????? First of all I would like to thank you for the speedy response to my original e-mail. 16 hours and 38 minutes must be a personal record for Leith Police station and rest assured that I will forward these details to Norris McWhirter for inclusion in his next book. Secondly I was delighted to hear that our street has it's own community beat officer. May I be the first to congratulate you on your covert skills. In the five or so years I have lived in West Cromwell Street, I have never seen you. Do you hide up a tree or have you gone deep undercover and infiltrated the gang itself? Are you the one with the acne and the moustache on his forehead or the one with a chin like a wash hand basin? It's surely only a matter of time before you are headhunted by MI5. Whilst I realise that there may be far more serious crimes taking place in Leith such as smoking in a public place or being Muslim without due care and attention, is it too much to ask for a policeman to explain (using words of no more than two syllables at a time) to these twats that they might want to play their strange football game elsewhere. The pitch behind the Citadel or the one at DKs are both within spitting distance as is the bottom of the Albert Dock. Should you wish to discuss these matters further you should feel free to contact me on ??? ????. If after 25 minutes I have still failed to answer, I'll buy you a large one in the Compass Bar. Regards ???????

I agree with what u are saying the local garage that i use my supra is the first they have had their hands on so to speak i am happy for them to do general repairs but i would hate the idea of them learning on my car should their ever be a serious mech problem. I would feel more comfortable putting the car with some one who has spent a good few hours under the bonnet of the sup.
-
Just being nosey as to what sort of rates per hour people pay the garage that they trust out their. My local garage charge £24 per hour and also charge half hour rates as well. I only use the garage for general work servicing, brakes and shocks etc, any major mechanical work i would take her to a more specialist garage. Just want to see what difference their is at different parts of the country......

Now u tell me? what can i say we were doing what we were told at the time being new to the troop we never wanted to piss anyone off....

After coming back after a week long exercise in the field me and another new lad was told that due to health and safety reasons the 3 black bags that were full of about 25 peoples sh#t for that week couldn't be skipped so we were tasked with the important job of opening these black bags and trying to flush its contents down 3 toilets. After 45 mins of gagging and vomiting and poking stick down the toilet we managed to block the 3 toilets so bad that they overflowed and we were not as happy as pigs in sh#t. I can still smell them cubicles now as we tried cleaning up with mops and buckets.

Thanks for the conformation

Can someone confirm that if i remove the speed limit defender that is fitted to the car just now, the speed will then be limited back to 112mph without the need to add any other gizmo. The reason i am thinking of removing the SLD is that the speed o dial has 112mph on the outside and 180kph on the inner part. who ever de limited the car has stuck a mph sticker on the kph part of the dial but it is way out by at least 10mph at 30 and gets worse the faster i go. Now i dont do any track days or go near the 112 anyway so having it limited is not a problem i just want the dial to be more accurate and to also use the existing dial with the mph on the outer edge and just remove the current sticker from the kph. I hope this all makes sense to at least 1 person out their that can help. I have no idea of what SLD is fitted hope that dosnt make any difference

I find even though u have selected a gear when not in manu mode if u do decide to floor it u are going to get kick down that may catch some people out if not expecting it coming out of the bend. With manu mode switched on u can still get kick down between 3rd into 2nd but if u are in 2nd it holds that gear until u put it into drive .
-
I have to agree with what u are saying their and this year i will be using manu mode more often when the temp really starts to drop and those roundabouts and sharp corners that have been no problem all year can catch you out in the auto....

Today was the first time since i bought the soop that i actually tried the manual mode on the auto box for some fun on some B roads. 2 hours of near empty roads was bliss. I couldn't believe what fun Ive been missing out on in the last 11 months Ive had the car. I have been happy (and also lazy) with just leaving it in drive and with my left thumb up my ass letting the gearbox do the work. With the use of engine braking approaching the corners and keeping it in 2nd and not having to worry about the kick down it felt like a different car again. Top tip to anyone with the auto get yourself onto some B roads and give it a go. It was also the first time that i wish i had the 6 speed gear box for the day.......
