Matlee This medical is looking for the weakhearts and the High blood pressure drivers that are more likely to have a heart attack on the road its every 5 years for drivers over the age of 45 so we will all see a decline in the " fat over weight " lorry drivers in the future, if they fail the medical their HGV licence is put on hold till they pass it Cheers Ian

Martin RedM I have met you and thought you was a decent guy ....but i have to say your out of order mate Yes you was "cut up" by a bad driving lorry drive but dont tar all lorry drivers with the same brush ! we have all seen bad driving be it with the "White Van man" YOUNG driver, OLD drivers, BUS drivers, SPORTS car drivers (supra drivers excuded ahem ) Motorbikes, PIZZA delivery drivers, and more i just cannot think of just now, In Defence of Lorry drivers they DO have to pass a very strict driving test, have to pass a medical every 5 years, theeir annual milage is somewhere in the region of 50,000 and 70,000 miles So have you every driven a 42 tonne lorry ? tryed to negociate through a small town,backed one into a small loading bay etc etc etc and beleive me try stopping 42 tonnes in an emergancy is a REAL eye opener !!
