  1. JIC's number is 01883-744439 Worth a try. As Martin says they must have been monsters, or I've got it wrong and they were 16'
  2. Thanks Neil, do you know off hand what the pressure should be on the back? Bradb do you live near the Japanese Import Centre? You can sometimes pick up 17' wheels they take off the resent imports. When I was there last they sold a set to a guy for £50.
  3. Anyone know what the tyre pressure should be on the front? I think either my wheels need balancing or the tyre pressure is wrong. I have tyre wear on the outside edge of my right front, I take it the outside wearing is due to under inflation. The problem I have is the sup is a J-spec but it has 17' UK spec wheels, so the pressure could possibly be different.
  4. I'll leave well alone then. Last thing I want is my Turbo blades firing out the exhaust. You were right about it sounding like a sneeze Adam Sounds great when you hit high boost though.
  5. The instructions that came with it are in Japanese, and I was wondering what the turning nut does. I'm assuming it has something to do with how much pressure the valve can hold? There are some numbers on the nut too which I don't understand. Anyone have one or any ideas about this? Oh yeah and by the way thanks for the speedy delivery JB, I will be using your store again if the service is this good Cheers Andrew
  6. After adding millers +2 to a full tank of Optimax, I have started to get popping/backfires in the exhaust pipe on occasional bursts of acceleration. Granted this sounds impressive, but is it a good thing? I take it, it is excess fuel igniting in the pipe, if this is the case am I running too lean? Should I have reset the ECU? Cheers Andrew (Edited by Andrew at 9:16 am on May 10, 2002)
  7. Going to get the brakes done next week, I see Toyota dealers are offering a roll in roll out service like qwik fit.....may give them a try.
  8. Yes it is the (!) brake light........brakes are now starting to squeek, but only in reverse oddly enough. I think the pads have worn leading the fluid level to drop. Sorry to reply so late, but I've been on me Hols, bombing about in the Supra........albiet with dodgey brakes
  9. I have had fuel cut before Martin and it felt a lot more servere, it was like hitting a brick wall, loud bang and the engine light coming on. Unless of course fuel cut can be less dramatic? I didn't feel any powerloss. I now have a sneaky feeling it is the break fluid moving around, had this on my MKIII. Turned out the break fluid was low and the forward motion was moving the fluid away from the sensor.. I'll check it when I go home. Thanks.
  10. When I accelerate hard to 6000 rpm, I occasionally get two warning lights coming on. They are the large "!" on the rev counter and the small "(!)" on fuel gauge cluster. They light up together then go out after several seconds. Any ideas what this is?

    Tires

Thanks, I'll check those out. If the handling is too bad I'll get a full set.

    Tires

At the moment I have SO2's all round, but my back pair need replacing, the fronts are fine and still have plenty of tread. For the kind of driving I do the SO2's are too soft and wear real quick, so would it be ok to put a different set at the back with a harder compound? Or would it compromise my handling? Eventually I'd like to change to a different kind of tire to the SO2's for the above reason. Do Kwik Fit do the kind of tires I'm after for a supra J-Spec, because of work I need to be in and out quick. Cheers
  13. I have gone back to Optimax and for some reason I has helped with my Fuel cut off problem, strange as I thought it would be the other way round Anyway I was going to use Millers to get the RON upto and around 100, but I have one question. If I add Millers will I have to stick with it? Or can I put it in now and again? These reason I ask is in case I cannot get hold of the stuff. Also I understand I need to reset my ECU, So when I pull out the fuse does the ignition need to be on? Many thanks Andrew
  14. Cheers Martin, I remember Leon from the uksupra smartgroups page.
  15. Looks like I'm going to have to have a think about this, dump valves are easy to fit. When it comes to ECU electrical stuff I'm hopeless. Any suggested upgrade places I can take it to in the London area.
  16. That's the worring thing Ash, I use my Sup for work and wouldn't want to blow the thing to pieces. This my seem a little nieve but would an upgraded dump valve relieve some of the presure. Not sure how it works myself
  17. Yeah fair comment Adam, after I took my MKIII to BPU the boost gauge become redundant. But it was nice to see the needle shoot off the gauge
  18. Yeah looks like a safe bet getting one fitted. My old MKIII had a boost gauge, just strange Toyota didn't continue putting them in the Supra, could be an aftermarket ploy I guess.
  19. Bloody hell this board moves quick , thanks again for the info.
  20. Thanks I'll check this out. Just to easy my mind, If I leave things as they are will it damage the engine or is the ECU doing what it should by protecting my engine?
  21. Ash you couldn't have explained it better Frightened to shite out of me. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it?
  22. No all cats are out, and I do not have a boost gauge so no idea there I'm afraid. I forgot to mention but I had changed my fuel to Shell Optimax, then had to change back to regular fuel when I got caught short no where near a Shell garage. When it happen to you did the engine light come on? Another thought was that it still has the toyota bov(dump valve) maybe this needs upgrading? Also would I boost higher in cold weather?
  23. Think I have a mojor problem here. Normal driving the car runs fine, no problems. But when I accerlerate hard to 5000/6000 revs the car makes a banging noise, and jolts back (likened to going over a deep pot hole at speed). Now this only happens at high revs and usually in 3rd although it has happened in 4th and sometimes 5th. You can change up and the car continues again until you reach high revs. My main consern is that the engine light came on last night for a few seconds then went out. The thing is this doesn't happen all the time and for the life of me I cannot work this out. It is an import and still has it's jap limiter on, so I thought it could have something to do with that. The only mod is an exhaust and as far as I know no other mods. Any comments would be most appreciated. Cheers Andrew
