  1. Ian if you dont mine me asking, what set up are you running and with what supporting mods? also what BHP were you aiming for? cheers.
  2. I removed mine, Engine note is now aswsome and you can hear the tubbies spooling miles away. I do carry a fire extinguisher though so i took me chances
  3. In terms of laggyness etc, i have been running my car in TTC for a year now and am well used to the slow sluggish drive before 4k and then after a totally different car, some people dont like this and feel its not for them, i on the other hand love it. So single is the route i'd take, but will be thinkin long and hard about this, as it could be either the best decision route i could take or easily a nightmare.
  4. Yeah but Jazz i dont think he was aiming for 500BHP, plus he started from stock, i have a few of the bits already.
  5. Judging from that lot i think you were aiming for more than 500 horses...and big horses they would be too
  6. Look forward to seing the website mate. Good luck!
  7. But from what i have heard, mapping the Emanage can be complicated and problamatic.
  8. So all in all, Complete single KIt, FMIC Fuel pump and regulator 650cc Injectors 3" decats Fuel rail? Emanage or complete standalone?
  9. Richie S, what setup are you running? whats the norm drive like? and how does it perform when on full chatter?
  10. I have super rare jap cloth seats....wanna swap with them...i can collect lol
  11. I suppose standalone is a better option than SAFC or something similar to run 650cc +, this is probably where the bulk of the money should be invested wisely, fueling and mapping via standalone ECU?
  12. You could pick up a really decent single from Jurgen for less and have change left over for fuel for the rest of the year!
  13. It feels as though there are alot of decent advice about the different kits and what power they could give you, but not much advice in regard to how much it would cost for a complete kit supplied and mapped correctly with supporting mods. I know you get what you pay for, but for something like a T61 with supporting mods surely it shouldnt mean that you have to spend 6k+ just to get it up and running correctly does it?
  14. so throw some figures at me guys, reliable set up for around 500-550BHP, im assuming 650cc, emanage, Complete single kit....
  15. Terry if i were aiming for let say 500-550BHP at crank, what would you recomend as a wise and efficient set up, i.e tubo and all supporting mods.
  16. In front of the curtains everyone recomends that singles are the way to go, i.e less things to go wrong, lower EGT's than hybrids...etc. But behind the curatins i have heard a few members mention that quite a few people are not happy with there singles, claiming boost problems, mapping/fueling problems etc and would not recomend it and rather you go with hybrids or big twins for more reliable power. Not putting down the singles or hybrids just want to know your thoughts on this as i will be going down the single route possibly, im personally looking to achieve a true 500BHP road car that is reliable and will not have to be at the tuners every fortnight getting mapped and remapped. your thoughts on this gents and ladies.

    exhaust note!

TBH all i can put it to is that the idle is slightly lumpy, spark plugs? Do you feel the knock when sitting in the car? not hear it but actually feel it so to speak?
  18. Sarcasm i sense! No benefits what so ever, just hear the engine note so much more and BOV alot more now...oh yeah if there was an engine fire then its bye bye supra...but thank god i have a fire extinguisher in the back. all the fellas with c/f bonets dont have em aswell so ill take me chances.

    exhaust note!

Does it sound like a very slight popping noise from the exhaust? can it be felt in the car?
  20. This is propabaly why you could not hear them whistle before! I hear mine all day long on boost, Stock TT with no sound proofing cover. But come to think of it i used to hear my turbo whistle even when i did have the fire blanket on the car before.
  21. wow! i would seriously kill for that, trial rear?
  22. If you have an aftermarket exhaust on it may be hard to hear for the turbo also you have sound deadening/fireproof cover stuck on to the bonnet, this obviously deadens (spell check lol) the sound, i removed mine:D and now i hear my twins singing:)
  23. lol its funny, why is it when a female newbie joins the group the thread is guaranteed to hit 8+ pages.....more to the point do all your misses know how friendly ya all are? Oh BTW welcome to the group Black Beauty, pretty sure this thread is gonna easily top 10 pages
