  1. If ever you needed to see why the British Drift Championship is so popular, watch this stunning short film produced by Stephen Brooks, where he captures the scene, the mood and the excitement involved with the 2010 Championship. We felt this film was too good not to share with others! You can view the film on the Modified Car Insurance page of our website. Believe us when we say it is one of the best short films you will see about drifting. http://www.skyinsurance.co.uk/modified-car-insurance.html If you are unfamiliar with the UK Drift scene, there are plenty of events that you can get along to see - and you will be able to check out the Driftworks Team, sponsored by Sky Insurance, in action. We are confident you will not be disappointed! Feel free to leave your feedback Thanks Ollie http://www.skyinsurance.co.uk/car-club-insurance.html
  2. She is called Cassie! But I will pass this on to her, and dont worry everyone calls her Cathy, myself included! She loves it. Thanks for the feedback! Ollie Sky Insurance
  3. There will be a reason behimd the cancellation, a reason I cannot tell you as I do not have your details. If you wish to give them to me I can look into this. It is not in our interest to cancel a policy and it is only done as a very last resort and when we are instructed to do so. I have put a lot of work into our cancellation procedure and know exactly what procedure we go through with every policy.
  4. I would have been a good idea to call us if you didn't receive your paperwork.. We would never cancel a policy without instructions to do so from the policy underwriter and not before phoning the customer, writing to the customer and finally sending a recorded delivery letter. If you PM me your details I am happy to dig out the time-line details of this procedure and send them to you. Thanks

  6. Thanks, I'll pass this onto Kathy (Cassie) I am glad there was a positive resolution in the end. If any other Mkiv Supra club member customers require any assistance please PM me. Thanks Ollie
  7. Cornwall, parts of Scotland, middle England..
  8. Your car is modified although not to a high level so it does open up a wider vaiety of companies that will quote you. If you PM me your surname, postcode and the rate you are currently paying, with excess, I will look at your details and see if there is any reason I can find why were may have provided an uncompetitive quotation for you in the past. As I have said before though, we cannot beat every price out there, if a rate is deemed as too competitve for us we usually would not quote our very best rate, we would go with a standard guide rate. Thanks
  9. The UK's absolute worst area for car insurance, let alone import/modified/performance car insurance.
  10. Via our car club scheme all 'L' Liverpool postcodes are excluded. Without meaning to be rude (and I admit I do struggle sometimes), you could live in the nicest part of any city , a gated community with 24 hours armed guards.. it doesn't stop people coming to the area breaking in the houses and stealing the cars, think prefessional footballers and how many times they have been in the press for having their gates ram raided, houses robbbed, cars stolen. I agree with that comment 100% but alas we are governed by the postcode criteria we are given. If you look at the bare bones of it, it can sometimes be madness.. You could move one street away and find your insurance prices doubles as you have changed postcode. Everything as far as insurance prices go is dictated by claims statistics, if there have been more claims or a higher value of claims from one particular postcode, the price will be higher for that postcode. These postcode restrictions are incredibly frustrating for us as well.
  11. I think it was bought up as we are an insurer.. not specifically because we are the club insurer. Also as you may have noticed, almost all the feedback has been from people who have uncompetitive quotes on standard UK cars.
  12. Not a problem and to be fair, some factors in insurance still baffle me.. different insurers will look for different risk profiles, no one insurer is going to the best for everyone. *tongue in cheek* when I am shopping for my own insurance (and I do every year) if I find a company who is uncompetitive I just move on to the next one, I dont waste my time moaning about it on the internet. The same logic could be applied to many UK industries..
  13. Come on John, you must have some better ones than that!
  14. It is a double edged sword for us. We do not know the price we send you IS uncompetitive, in fact in a fair few cases we get customers ranting and raving at us for a high renewal price only to come back with their tail between their legs when they find that in fact it is a competitive price. This may not be the case for you however but it does happen time and time again. I've received your PM reply, many thanks and I am hopefuly/confident we can do better. The other factor is, the renewal is automatically generated and passed to us by the policy underwriter, we wait for customers to contact us so we can get the details of any change of circumstances before re-quoting.
  15. To a certain degree you are right, by saying no to certain high risk areas we are able to keep our claims loss ratios down and pass savings onto customer who do meet our criteria. These restrictions have been in place for a number of years and I stand by the fact that only a minority of Supra Club owners are effected, unfortunately (and of course) it is these members who are vocal about this fact. Supra Club Insurer does not mean we can insure every member at the best price. There is too much emphasis being put on the 'North' here though.
  16. There is a fair amount of good feedback in our main thread and we have some very happy and loyal Supra Club members insured here, also, to be fair, how many people would take the time to leave an insurer positive feedback?
  17. Standard UK car insurance is not our speciality.
  18. You have to understand that we cannot be competitive each and every time, if we uncompetitive for every person that calls us, we wouldn't be in business. Sky Insurance are actually going from strength to strength when a lot of our competitors are falling around us. It may well be that A Plan are very keen to keep your business and are going underneath the market rate to keep hold of this. It may also be that the companies we use are the same as A Plan so we cannot undercut their rates using the same underwriters.
  19. As I say the one company we used and offered us a discounted scheme for standard UK car insurance have pulled our scheme and pulled out of the private car insurance market. Nine times out of ten we cannot insure standard UK cars on our car club scheme, this is reserved for import/modified/performance cars only.. there is a bit of a trend here with the feedback, standard UK cars.
  20. To be honest, I very much doubt that any of our agents would say that but we do not insure in the 'L' Liverpool postcode area due to the horrendous claims loss ratio in the area. If your underwriters are paying out £2.50 for every £1 they take through premiums, you can understand them pulling our discounted scheme in that particular postcode area.
  21. The simple explantion is that we have lost a discounted scheme with the one company we used for standard UK car insurance, unfortunately now we can only use our 'screen rate' products which in this case are not competitive. I would like to look into this though so I will PM you in a moment. Thanks
  22. A few comments here in response to the feedback. We specialise in modified and import car insurance. Whilst we can insure standard UK cars like some mentioned here, sometimes we cannot compete against the big boys, there is a highly competitive market for standard UK car insurance.. it works both ways though, mostly the big boys cannot compete against us for a lot of non standard car insurance. We regards to the usual why are we the club insurers comment - the simply fact is (and I dont mean this to sound arrogant), for the majority of club members, we are the most competitive for Supra Insurance, we insure Supras in very high volumes, more so than other UK specialists. We cannot however beat every single price out there and it is unfair to expect we can. You'll find , time and time again it is the customers we cannot help who are vocal about this. Understandable, nobody likes paying for insurance so it is rare people will leave you postitive feedback but people will always be quick to criticise. With regards to not insuring up North, well that is a little ridiculous, sure we have some postcode exclusions and extra critera but this is not just up north, we have a many, many happy customers who live orth of the watford gap, or north of Brighton. I dealt with similar feedback recently on the Celica Club, not sure if you can view this or not: http://www.celica-club.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=110907 There are a couple of members who have comment on this thread who I will PM and look into their cases and try and help or if we cannot help will offer an explanation as to why. Kind regards Ollie Sky Insurance
  23. It is character building, something kids of today need as much of as possible. I'll never forget the olds days of being screamed at to keep running on cross country or being made to complete the course with a 3 inch bit of skin flapping from my knee after falling on a flint.. I wouldn't change these memories for the world. All children shoulld be doing PE, and if they are not they should have a damn good excuse as to why. Ollie
  24. I am sorry to hear this, I would like to look into the feedback, would you mind dropping me a PM with your details and a quick run down of what has happened? thanks
