I'm looking to buy from Japan, but before I do I would like to estimate the shipping cost so need to know an approximate weight, any idea what one of these weigh?

I know someone who's mate is a professional welder, he could take the subs to his place of work and get them welded for me. I'm going to dismantle a passenger seat tonight and see what I'm left with.

If it was a good quality weld (by a professional), wouldn't that be strong enough?

I tried Keron all afternoon on Friday then gave up, thats when I came up with the genius Cobra seat idea

I have no shortage of spare seats! I currently have 2 faulty electric drivers seats and 2 passenger seats. I suppose instead of chopping the seatbelt locator from one of the passenger sub, I could get it cut off one of the faulty drivers sub then get it welded on the passenger sub, obviously I need to make sure the cobra mounting holes would line up, then get them drilled. I've been in touch with Paul, unfortunately he can't help me with the Cobra subs.

With a bit of chopping & welding is this Possible? Is it just a case of relocating the seat belt mounting thread to the opposite side? At the moment I'm desperate, my car is currently on the drive seatless, it has not tax or MOT, I have just acquired a pair of Cobra seats but it looks like the custom Cobra subframes are on a long lead time, so I’m screwed as my supe is my daily runner Any suggestions would be appreciated. Why don't you just get some Cobra seats?

Their websites says their subs are for Cobra seats only, but you would expect them to say that

I'm going to pick up a pair of Cobra Sidewinders this evening, then only need the subframes!

I've just popped down to see if they're open on a Saturday, unfortunately they're shut. Coincidently, my next door neighbour own's his own business and his unit is in the row of units opposite, I didn't know that until now

I assume you have you got the sliding subfames, did they fit straight in without the need to modify?

I'm in Telford, Cobra are a mile or so from me, but I've never been. Do they have a factory shop? Cheers.

What seats seats did you use with them?

I got some Loctite and glued the white plastic thing in, it is now rock solid, it's not coming out again. I reconnected the seat to the power and tried the slider switch, at first the seat levelled itself out, then did nothing. The motor winds and sounds like it should when it's sliding backwards/forwards but it's not moving at all. I'm at a loss.

I've been trawling through euro eBay sites; France, Germany, Austria, Holland etc....nothing.

Unfortunately my MOT expired 31st March. A few extra bits came in on the MOT for 2013, one of them is the Driver’s seat adjustment mechanism, it has to be fully fuctional or it's an automatic fail. I have already PM'd Keiron a few days ago asking if he had a manual seat available, but have had no reply.

Yep, Just my luck. I spent pretty much the whole of my bank holiday going to get the replacement seat, then spent 4 hours getting my old one out to find the replacement is just as good as the one I removed! Now my car has failed the MOT because of it, and my tax has expired, so my car is stuck on the drive until I can get another seat. The Mrs is pi$$ed cos I'm having to use her car to get to work and she hasn't got a car for doing home visits etc. which is part of her job, it just gets worse

I have but it's the same problem, it won't tighten up when in the hole. I would love a manual seat if I could find one, but they're like rocking horse S#!t. I haven't got recaro money at the mo

My replacement electric seat stopped working soon after I fitted it, and as a result my car failed the MOT yesterday, very annoying Last night I decided to remove the seat, and I found a small white plastic screw type thing on the carpet next to the seat (l/h/s when sitting in seat), it has a cross on the top which I assume is a Philips head, and has what look like thread at the top half, but it looks very worn as the thread is almost non-existent. The plastic part fits in a hole on the side of the seat, I put it in and tried to see if it would screw in but it just spins in the hole and doesn’t tighten. If I push it down on the plastic screw while operating the seat slider button the seat moves on the rail but I can feel it rotating under my finger, and it feels like it is being push out, if I take my finger off it falls out. Does anyone know if the plastic part is supposed to rotate as the seat moves, or is it supposed be fixed. I’m wondering if super gluing it in place would work? Cheers!
