Ha! great minds think alike. Guess it leaves you the extra cash for a respray!

When one keeps wondering what its like on the other side of the "Auto" fence that manual sounds really appealing, nothing against the owners of red cars but maybe its cheap cos its RED!!

I guess she was a "2 hit wonder" eh!

Might just do that James, who's the girl in your Avatar IYDMMA? she looks lush.

I'm not one to rub salt in peoples wounds, hit a man while his down, whats the point? I'm sure he's learnt his lesson, his insurance company will have him over a barrel at renewal, surely there's no need for fellow Supra owners to tear the arse out of him too. Anyway as i asked in my only other post on this topic i take it the bloke i spoke to at Santa Pod who said he had a Top Secret carbon bonnet like mine was the guy in question??? Im pretty sure he said he stacked it at Ace. He seemed like a sound bloke and not a baseball cap weilding boyracer id expected from comments read in this thread. Ive driven past there (on A406) many times and heard how popular a cruise/meet night it was. Some of the bikers at work had told me if i were gonna go down there you have to get there early or you'll have nowhere to park, is that right? I feel sorry for this guy, from what little of the Ace i can see from the A406 cant imagine he'd be hitting 100 round there that easily, like turner said if he'd run his car at the pod he'd be running 9's all day! Although feeling sorry for the guy the "Cronicles Of The Cafe" ive heard in this thread has made me at little aprehensive about ever goin down there cos i'd be worried bout my car, maybe some of the guy's that actually drive down there can reassure it still a worthwhile place to visit on a Jap Cruise night.

How freaky, i think that Lui bloke came over and chatted to me whilst i was in the Fire-up lane for the drag strip at SantaPod yesterday, he was asking bout my TopSecret carbon bonnet and told me how he damaged his down the Ace last week, is this the same guy??? I was gonna pop down Ace last Tues night but was too tired from work and didn't wanna turn up too late in case the was no where safe to park and my car might get smashed-up by some exhibitionists, may have a been a good call afterall.
-
Yeah it was quite a big turn out last night, i didn't really get a chance to find who were the owners of some cars there before i left. Lovely driving conditions too, all that cool dense air..... did anyone manage to find some rubber i lost on my way out???!!! LSD's gotta be next on the shopping list, can't believe they made some Supra's without em!
-
If there's no room at the Inn i guess we'll have to keep circling the roundabout or just head down the front, should'nt be too hard to spot a pack of Supe's. I reckon Tesco's will be alright though in a far corner somewhere where shoppers can't be arsed to walk from...... don't hold me to that though!
-
Snap! I'm debating on going round the girlfriend's in Hadleigh before i head down to TESCO's, not sure though she'll probly make me late. Hope it's not the same GF!

1. Mikeyb10supra 2. DamanC 3. letmeshowyou 4. edd_t (but wheres tesco down the a127?) 5.scrane colchester 6. Supragold 7. supraloopy(i live behind the tesco ) 8. Stevie Boy I'm sure there's another Tesco's further back down A127 where the McD's and KFC drivethru are around Basildon? Anyway don't wanna complicate matters as long as were clear on the one at the Roundabout by the RBOS office, be good to see some of the mystery Supra's you hear have been cruisin around. I saw a rather mint Gold one with a dragon down its sides the other night down Basildon, i'm not one for loadsa graphics but the car still looked pretty damn good from where i was driving. I lost self control for a moment as i had a little tear up and down the makeshift drag strip, but then parked safely away to have a little watch of some insane guy's ragging the obsolute pants outta their motors "Those were the days...."
-
I haven't put bonnet pins on cos i felt they spoil the look, but they would sort out the minor discrepancy with front left and right edges where they look very slightly raised so i may fit some at some stage. Just one of those things you notice but no one else does....... my girlfriend thinks i'm mad with all the little imperfections that bug me bout the car!! I'm sure i'm not alone on that one. My mate lost the back end of his RX-7 going round a roundabout the other day and wrapped it round a lamp post. Emergency services cut his roof off and smashed his cf bonnet getting open to disconnect the batt i think, he was alright but it made me think things can always be worse.
-
I'd put a couple of new bonnet latches on cos they were a bit temperamental and O/side used look like it was flapping about above 130. I had it all adjusted to perfection and i didn't wanna use bonnet pins as the front sides seemed a little high from certain angles. Anyhow (admittedly i had the catch as far down as was humanly possible, one cold morning i opened the hood to check my levels, when i went to shut it and the O/Side wouldn't latch, maybe being a little stubborn i continued to keep trying to latch it as there is quite a bit of flex in it, think it may have been the cold but it shut but this small hairline crack appeared above the striker area..... not a happy bunny. Anyway i've kinda hidden it with a TRD badge, don't tell anyone.....!
-
I was gonna pop down there after work last night, but didn't get outta work till gone 8 and was too nackered to clean the car! Mate rang from ACE who'd gone down on his tuned-up GSX-R, he said there was quite a few Supras, should have gone and compared TOP SECRET cf hoods!
-
Old thread but what was the outcome with these Top Secret CF hoods? Sounded pretty cheap, were they any good? I think i paid £550 +VAT for mine from Whifbitz didn't realise there'd been a group buy. I managed to put a tiny hairline crack in mine which you cant really see, but it annoys me cos i always stare at it! It's a SEIBON cf copy of the TOP SECRET II version with the vent over the turbos, i think.

Took Mmarks advice at ROTORSTOCK II Shakespere County Raceway in May this year, got my best run with headlight out think that may have helped the air feed although it was unlimited runs there did bout 5runs just got quicker and quicker. Called it a day at 12.890 @113.18, got 2nd fastest time out of the collection Jap car driving chums i went there with. Was the fastest until mate Tom's last run in an R33 GTR pulled a 12.4 outta the bag. It was reasonably warm at Rotorstock, but didn't run my car at the last JapShow, it was way too hot Sat and Sun so i just watched the track and got heatstroke instead!

Fri night! RED M reg UK Spec A13 onto A406 North Circular
Stevie Boy replied to Stevie Boy's topic in Was it You?
Exhaustwise i'm running 1st and 2nd CATs removed + full BLITZ NUR SPEC R. I had the sound reduction tube thingy in the rear silencer when you heard it, i think it looks a bit lame when you see the smaller pipe in the centre of the main tail pipe but i think its sounds a lot better with it in and plus i don't get so annoyed with the droneing noises if doing a long crusing journey. Definately turns heads with it out though! I think i read somewhere Blitz have a new model of the NUR SPEC, with a manually variable sound tuning tube, seems a little gimmicky though. No worries bout the fuel consumption test, never really need much of an excuse to put my right footdown in the Supe. Probly why i haven't managed to complete a test yet in just over a year of owning it! You wont need to get a restrictor ring/plate if you decide to decat your car as well being a UK car, i had to on mine as the Jap turbos overboost without enough restriction in the exhaust. Think UK's are fine without one, although you'll need a CAT back in for MOT emmisions. -
Think you said your screename was SUPRA summink. Couldn't hear a word you were sayin through the window as we were cruising along the North Circular, if it was with reference to my erratic braking n driving apart from stiff suffering from some kinda flu n feelin a bit dozey from medication, i was also in the process of trying to conduct a test on how many miles i could actually get from a full tank if i don't boot it about, guess i'll have to wait till i next fill up!

Cheers Pete, looks as though i have the VVTI 17's, thought all JDM's came with 16's for some reason, obviously me just being a twat. Think i didn't like them cos they've discoloured gone kind of dull grey/yellow poss the dried in brake dust theory. Feel a bit happier bout them now will get them painted to match the wheels a bit better then all will be well! Penguin if your interested in the 18's i should still have them on this Sun if i go to MiamiGT to RR meet if that's still on if you wanna check em out, maybe someone can take some pics and post em. I'm in no hurry to sell them, every1 keeps asking why i'm ditching them for Stock 17's. I just happen to like the MKIV as nature intended with some under cover stealth fettling, bar the carbon bonnet that i should be getting soon (which is purely for engine bay ventillation in the summer months!) Also wanted to see if running stock 17's would make any positive difference on 1/4mile times this year. Before i get too excited just wanted to confirm VVTI (late) 17's will fit fine over UK Spec brakes on an early '96 pre-facelift car.... answer should be yes i hope????

Hi all, at long last i managed to get hold of a set of UK 17" MKIV Wheels. In the pursuit of ditching the non-standard 18" moody bling "split-look" wheels which were on the car when i got it i've got hold of a set of original wheels, looking foward to putting them on, 18's i've got are only 8J width on front and rear, very pleased to see the MKIV wheels 8Jfront 9.5Jrear (although it seems 17" tyres wider than 265 are a little more pricey than i banked on) Even more pleased they're in much better nick than i thought they'd be. My 18's are looking a little worse for wear n/s/f having carefully caressed a curb once when a lorry decided to try and sandwich me against a wall in a tunnel once cos he was half asleep and o/s/f has a "pot hole" deformation of the outer rim which just pi*ses me off and generally the "black chrome" finish has gone a bit wierd don't use acid wheel cleaner often but could have been that. Might try and sell them on, maybe get them refurbed 1st. Anyhow my only quibble with the 17" UK rims i got is i don't think the wheel centres are right, they fit perfectly, have Toyota emblem embossed in the centre, but they also have what i can only describe as 5 "fake" shallow wheel stud holes (which arn't actually holes, just ditches), also the silver colour of the wheels centres is nothing like that of the wheels. I doubt these were some sort of option wheel centres, but any opinions on these would be nice, sorry i can't post a pic but i'm too stupid to work it out, and my computer isn't the greatest (the Commodore64 badge is the only thing holding it together!) Oh and by the way if anyone has some STD originals? or knows if the 16" JDM wheel centres are the same as 17", or the part numbers for the 17" UK Wheels centres, availability and how much i'd be looking at for a new set would be much appreciated. Cheers!

Happy Birthday John!!!

Hey i know you!! Your that Mr-T off the A-Team!! Don't Hannibal, Merdock and Face normally give you a traquilizer jab before you get on the flight??? "I ain't getting on know aeroplane, fool!" Sorry to mock your predicament, just couldn't help myself. Not sure Valium's that good an idea, although i haven't tried it. How long's the flight?

Just wanted to say thanks to Mawby, Jae at Sky and whoever else was involved in organizing the club insurance scheme. I'm 28, live in London(eek!), full no claims, SP30 from Oct '02 I'm defecting from Bell Direct whos best quote for my renewal this year was £1212.90 and that was fully comp, a limited milage policy (4,000), Social & Domestic only, NO MODIFICATIONS, £350 excess. Jae came up with £1041 Fully comp Social & Domestic and Commuting! Unlimited milage, declared "future" modifications of BPU and aftermarket alloys, £450 excess. Good enough that i saved almost £200 but the fact i can use the car for work if i want is cool, and Bell wanted even more dosh for Modifications so who knows how much more i've saved! Once again cheers guy's, happy motoring!!!
