  9. The overall diameter is 110mm, and the length of it is 200mm. I don't know it it will fit the RSR mate, all I know is that it comes with the NUR Spec. Sorry
  10. My missus is in Manchester at the minute, she's meant to be getting the train home, but they've just cancelled it! So now they've put on a bus (an hour late) to bring her back. Looks like she won't be home any time before 0230 tomorrow morning Public transport? I don't think so!
  11. Both PMs returned. Thanks guys!
  12. Will do mate, cheers. Slight sublect change - is that you in your sig? and is that a real tattoo? The reason I ask is that I want to get my first tattoo in August, but the diabetic specialist said it was not advisable for me to get one done?
  13. Nice one! I'm there in the morning anyway for another blood test! I'm surprised there is any left for them to test after the last 7 days of taking it from me
  14. No but I drove a Supra before you, so technically it's my forum
  15. It's this kind ofstuff that's going to be hard to start with, the bits you don't think about. Where do I get a medic alert bracelet from? Doctors?
  16. I've had loads of that already. I'll use that reply next time
  17. WOW! Loads of great information there guys, thank you all very much! I'll print this off for future reference! Supragal - I've been prescribed Mixtard, which is both fast and slow release Insulin. Mattanna - You've answered a lot of my questions there, Thank you. V helpful Schtuv - Brilliant tips there about keeping BG level etc. I'll take them on board. Thanks. Plus I didn't know about the driving licence bit! Kookookachu - I'll keep an eye out for the choccies Ta I've got more info from here than any Diabetes forum. YOU GUYS ROCK /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_sad.gif
  18. Any more before they go on Ebay?
  19. Ok then, cheers mate, What do you keep your BG at? I can't seem to ge mine below 16mmo/L If your BG gets too high, do you wait until your next insulin dose is due or inject another dose to level it off? If you want to eat say, a sweet pudding or something, can you increase your insulin to compensate or is it just out of the question? Same thing for beer, if you want ohave more than a couple of pints. What sort of things make you ill? From what I understand, a 'Hypo' is caused by a lack of sugar in the body, so can you have too much to cause a problem? Thanks, Chris
  20. We went to Sosua last January. Not the best time to go as it rained most of the time! However we still really enjoyed it. It'll be hot now though! You'll have a great time so long as you don't let the locals intimidate you when they try to make you buy stuff! If they do try and you don't want to buy just say NO and they will leave you, BUT if you do want to buy, haggle with them! I bought an oil painting which the guy wanted the equivalent of £80 for, I paid £20! So you can get some really good deals. We bought our wedding rings there, and haggled about 400 quid off them. EVERYTHING is up for negotiation! I'd definatley go back, and as people have said, Monster Truck Safari and Ocean World are a must, especially the swim with Dolphins:love:
  21. Thanks again for all the encouragement! I'm starting to feel ok about it now. All the people who have offered help, I will definately take you up on that. I've got a couple of questions at the moment, and the advice phone no they gave me is not answering! Handy. Chris
  22. Thanks for all the replies guys. This is why even though I don't drive a Supra any more, I might still stick arround to be part of this warm caring community I've just been on some Diabetes sites, there are thousands of people get it, and once you come to terms with it they say you hardly even notice it Must be worse for kids i guess!
  23. For the last 2 weeks I've been drinking shed loads of water, like 6 litres a day!! I put this down to the hot weather and sweating a lot. But last Thursday I finished work a bit early, so I called at the doc's just to make sure there wasn't a problem. The doctor asked the nurse to do a piss test, and then they all started running round and called me in for a blood test, WTF! And then the verdict.. Yep, you've got diabetes. SHIT! I had to go to the hospital where they were waiting to admit me for the night my blood sugar level was off the scale at the GP's, and off the scale in the hospital. Get this though, your blood sugar level should be 4-6mmol/L, when my blood test came back from the lab, it was 52.8mmo/L. They said they'd never seen such a high level on someone not in a coma So now I have to inject myself at least twice a day with insulin! GREAT Who else has got TYPE 1 Diabetes, and how does it affect your life? Chris
  24. Nice one, again PM me you address and I'll get it sent out
