John, if one could get correctly shaped piping made up, do you think it would be possible to use the stock (or a CW / RadTech) SMIC with a single? The SMIC looks so much finer and hasn't got two other radiators right behind it.
-
If you think that's hard, wait till you find some 'properly' seized brake caliper pins.
Oh dear....
One of mine was a right bitch! It wasn't seized per-se but it had been mashed up around the end and wasn't straight any more
-
Im hoping for some "carl0s" luck when I do mine next week!!
from what people are saying, it sounds like holding a soldering iron in the centre of the screw-head for a while might make it easier.

The old original style screws are "crappy drive"! I selected the right screwdriver but no matter how hard I pushed they wouldn't grip enough and the screw head ended up getting mashed up as usual!
I must've just been lucky with mine. Glad you sorted it in the end anyway
-
posi-drive, phillips, crosshead, whatever!
I use the terms interchangably because I'm stupid and don't know which is which.
What I was getting at though, was that the correct screwdriver should do the job. Mine came out easy enough anyway
-
a correctly sized decent phillips screwdriver should grip the screw as well as any flat would.. surely?

still haven't sussed out the v-band flange thing..
does this mean anything..

erm, well it was probably the wrong word, but I was being picky when I pointed out you misspelling picky.
-
sorry about the paradoxical joke.
erm, the UK spec calipers look like they were oringally black. Silver (cut-metal) decals are available from.. I think it's Gordon F on here. The red line would be done with the assistance of a masking tape or something.

picky..

Could you basically fit the turbo kit, bigger injectors and fuel computer and that would be it. asuming your already BPU[?].
On a UK car it should presumably be even easier. Larger injectors are already there, as is the fuel pump I think. What I would like to know is can I use an SMIC in the stock location with one.

well, at a glance anyway!

can anybody explain to me what a v-band flange is, maybe with pictures?
Any thoughts as to why there isn't one on these? (do some configurations not require one?)
cheers

I don't think you should really use a regular allen-fitting. The supplied tool is tapered - looks like it's wearing out but it's not, it's tapered so it gets a reight-tight fit
BTW, they're shit. Get rid of them ASAP. I went for some nuts which come with a socket-type fitting. £40 set from Dave Sheldon Tyres in Manchester.

other than the GPS which I don't need (have a TomTom GO), that looks perfect, with one major exception..
from the description where it says "automatically mutes radio", I'm guessing it intercepts the ISO connector-block, which just isn't gonna work for me 'cause I'm all amped up and have run fresh speaker cables direct from the amp.

Can anybody please advise me..
I would like a relatively inexpensive bluetooth in-car handsfree unit which can be hidden behind the dash, has a line-level output to plug into my Clarion head unit, and a discrete microphone which can be tucked away somewhere.
Ideally it will have bare wires for power also, but I can butcher the ciggy-lighter plug if it comes with one of those.
Does anything spring to mind? This is to suit a Sony Ericcson v600i.

mine is off all the time too. I was actually thinking of some kind of electronic circuit which would automatically hit the "trc off" switch if it detected no voltage on the "trc off light". e.g. so it was off all the time but without losing the timing-retard feature.

good god that's horrific. You would've thought the silly thing would refrain after a few spikes!
