  1. Right- Had a call from Toyota today. Good news. A watchdog researcher had spoken to the manager and addressed my concerns Toyota are now charging me 2 hours labour which is what i agreed to and an o2 sensor price as they think this is what is causing the over fuelling. Not the £2300 price from before. I can't believe they tried it on! Great News
  2. I’ve just called watchdog and they were very very interested in what I had to say. The researcher will be calling Toyota head office tomorrow presenting my case. I’ll keep you informed!
  3. Hi peter- just replying to your quote '''As for paying....you will have to pay for their time but, did you not ask after the first 24hrs what the score was ?''' I gave them clear instructions to call me if they didn't find what the problem was after 1-2hours I said they must check with me before they go on and continue to search for the problem which they have not done. I called today and asked about the car- they said they would call me back in 15m which they didn't do. I tried calling back- no answer etc etc. Can't get there too because of work at mo. I am assuming that they have continues their search for the problem without discussing with me the time they have spent on it. This would = about £2300 I am defiantly going to refuse to pay the full amount as this is outrageous. I have also reported this to headoffice who assured me that they would contact Toyota Q Can they legally keep my car until I pay?
  4. could be something to do with the idle control valve?
  5. I am defiantly not paying that amount- Do they have the right to keep my car until I pay? If they sort it ill, pay 2 hours labour + parts However If they don’t Ill pay them an hours labour as that’s what the service manager had told me it should take to diagnose the problem. Anyone in the London area who could help me out with getting the car back to good health.
  6. How do you know it's flooding? they told me Have the coil packs been checked? Yes- OK Is there a spark? Yes checked If it's over fueling - do you have a piggyback fuel computer? No stock ECU Have they changed the Fuel Pressure Regulator? going to find out have they checked the O2 sensor? Yep- OK Are there any fault codes? I checked these- None-
  7. hi- The service manager says his guys have been on it all day. dont know what the problem is- so no waiting on any parts. Just trying to find out why its overfuelling Ive just complained to headoffice!!
  8. What is an expectable time for Toyota to diagnose a problem with my supe. Its does not start as the engine floods (overfilling). They have had it for 4 working days and are charging me approx £70 per hours labour to work out why it’s over fuelling. That works out at £2240 at the moment. What a joke!!!!! As you have probably guesses I am not very happy with this. What should I do? What is my position with holding payment as they obviously don’t have the expertise to sort the problem out. Please help me out as it stressing me out Thanks

  13. Ye its a Uk and I think it is a EGR vac modulator
  14. Traced a boost leak to this thing see picture. As I pressurised the turbo system a hissing sound was coming from it. Its not the hoses attactched to it. When I block both holes- one under and one on the right I can still blow through it. Iam assuming the thing is buggered. Ps. Can some one check which side faces the front of the engine bay please- As i want to make sure I put it back the right way (P) or (Q) 2rd Q Has anyone got one of these spare as I would be intrested before I try toyota Thanks guys
  15. Check out http://www.mkiv.com under tec articles- turbo essentials
  16. I went away on hol and when I came back my battery was dead. The car had discharged it self as it wasn't driven for a month- when I jump it, the car was fine however the next day it discharged again- So-again I jump it. My point is while it was discharging its self really odd electrical things would happen like things turning on. At one point the alarm and the break lights were on + Dodgy dash lights etc. I bought a new bat and since then things have been fine— Just thought id let you know
  17. Cheers mate- Cant wait for the light to check it out!
  18. There a blue one on ebay (uk) £8500
  19. After 8 months of ownership I have finally traced down a boost leak, which hopefully is the cause of the 0.6 Bar max reading. I found the boost leak test on the USA forum- Spent all day changing the oil and searching for the dam thing. Just found it Well chufft”- Gfriend didn't understand what all the excitement was all about but I am sure you guys would understand. Hopefully when I put the air intake back together, all will be fine. Keeping fingers cross. The leak was from the small pipes attached to the EGR thingys on the throttle body at back

  21. Hi any ideas where I can get a 3 way air solenoid. I want to make a switchblade boost controller Cheers
  22. Thanks pal, so no immediate danger then cheers
  23. Thanks for the reply So I am assuming that using a bleed valve without the A/F being check could cause it to run rich therefore 'not good' for the car. IF this is def the case then i better take the thing out so not to cause any problems. Let me get this straight- To use a bleed value you need to A/F adjusted- However if a ball spring type controller was used then as no air is bleed away this would not interfere with the A/F rations- Therefore when ever you adjust the bleed valve to make more boost do you need to check A/F
  24. Just until I get my elec boost controller- i was wondering if it would be OK to use a bleed valve on a UK spec supra. I read somewhere that the car may run rich due to metered air being bleed away therefore wrong A/f ratios. Only upping it by 0.1 bar Is this the case? Thanks
