  3. mate- you need a twin turbo. whats the point of having a car that looks like a supra and moves like a fast golf?? The service costs are about the same. go for the twin turbo
  4. "Lite 10w40 made by COMMA Synthetic Technology Suitable for petrol and diesel engines including fuel injected, turbo charged and naturally aspirated. Premium protection - optimum performance. Synthetic blend to help reduce emissions and protect catalytic converters. Service Classification: ACEA A2 B2 API SL CF"" what does "synthetic technology" or "synthestic blend" mean. Is this oil a semi synthestic oil a basic mineral oil- The product description does say siuitable for turbo charged cars so is it OK for a Supra. Need to know as I can get this stuff very very cheap.
  5. I know this is a very difficult question to attempt to answer. But what are people opinions on how safe the supra is. I ask becoz recently a friend was involved in an accident -was OK thank god due to the car having a 4 Star rating - JUst can't help wondering what the supra would have looked like in a 40 mph head on as he was. Do people have an understanding of what makes a car safe structurally and does the supra have these.
  6. Managed to change the coolant and the auto oil without any problems today. Drained about 7 liters from the drip tap on the rad. Reached it from above- just reached down past the top rad pipe- desroyed the skin on my arm but worth it Little tip- if you can't get to the block drain tap to remove all the coolant -like me- then jack the car up 1st on one side then the other and watch the extra coolant flow out of the rad tap. Filled it up with Toyota Red and every thing was as it should be. Drained out the auto oil about 2 liters came out. did it without a ramp or pit just jacked it up slightly. I read somewhere that a full drain is not good idea so happy to stick with what the Service schedule states. The fluid was Toyota type IV and yes this is what is recommended on the back of the can for any transmission that required the older typeII- Total cost £65 ArdZ
  7. Hi- my car once had a similar problem like yours that came and went. Ended up a Toyota for 4 weeks as they had no idea what was wrong with it as no error codes came up. The problem was eventually traced to (this is what was on the receipt) ''traced fault to a poor multi plug connection'' CAN ANY one shed more light on this as I didn't ask them at the time to explain what this meant. This might be your problem. Just sounds all to familiar!!. My car got progressivly worse and was over fuellling alot- Missing ramdomly. Then it would be OK somtimes! Just read that click thing that your car makes when you applied the power. Mine did that too and it stop after the car was repaired. I try and ring up toyota tomorrow and try and find out what the problems was with my car. should have found out at the time but was so glad to have it back that I just wanted to get out of there
  8. Might be worth a go. Get a very small socket set- the compact box types you can get. Find the socket that is just a little smaller then the screw head. bash this onto the screw so that it bites into the head of the srcew. then turn. I have remove a screw like this before . Should have read the above- anyway a tip for next
  9. they look like my alloys- Are they bress alloys ? if they are - mine fit over the UK brakes and the ride is excellent too
  10. gonna get a performance exhaust very soon. Its going to be a custom built exhaust system. 1) What Cat can you remove without affecting the MOT emmision test- And is this 100% or just speculation. I need to know as I don't want to put the cat on every time the MOT is due. 2) This may sound picky but can the exhaust place build the exhaust so that it sounds how I want it. For example I don't want to hear it at motor way speeds etc. Just when I floor it. Like a Porsche- if you know what I mean- Do these places have a system to help with the tone selection etc. :blahblah: Any advice appreciated as I don't want to spend £££ and be disappointed Cheers

  12. Might be worth a try- follow the spark cables up to a small black box on the right handside of the engine bay. It has a clip on it. Check its attached tightly. Any other symtoms before this happened
  13. OK- I think they are a little expensive as I did a search- Any recommendations for a straight forward bulb swap?
  14. HI - I have uk glass as mines a UK spec Being thick here- whats HID? how much and where cheers?
  15. Why are they so crap?- Driving along the motor way at night is a problem as they don’t light up the road sufficiently. Recently fitted new bulbs- Xzon(sp) blue types 100w etc- but still not as good as my 1.0 polo w reg. Can anyone recommend a set of bulbs that do a good job in lighting up the road ahead as its very annoying having to use the beams on and off.
