It was on the road for a short period in sumer of 2020.. But it started smoking on start up... And i had already done the valve stem seals... So over winter i removed the turbos and had them rebuilt and associated pipe work refurbished by midland turbos.. They charged me £600 for the turbos.. Then put it all together with toyota turbo gasket kit ordered from amayama. So its altogether and stated it up after priming the oil feed pipes approx march 2021.. Ran it for 20mins with no more smoke.. Happy happy to say.. Turned it off.. Made a brew.. Started it again.. And. It started smoking just as bad... So did a compression check.. Cylinder 1 was 155psi.. 2 was 150psi.. 3 was 145 psi.. 4 was 90 psi.. 5 was 150 psi.. 6 was 155psi. So spoke to a few engine builders.. Then to whifbitz and liked the process they offered.. Dropped it of in early july.. Spoke to paulat whifbitz last week.. All the parts have arrived.. Cylinder head has come back from being stripped and rebuilt.. I have gone with a brand new short block.. I found a local vapour blasting company so the inlet manifold and various other parts can be restored to their former glory.. Agreed to some other refurbing work to the engine bat. So its probably about late August early September for from collection.. I advised whifbitz that im in no rush. So when its ready.. My other supra "800R" is being dropped off for a dct conversion. I will post pics of the engine when done.. And im sure paul will post of his social media Cheers Gilly

Not wanting to buy anything second hand, amayama.com list a short block brand new for 4k plus shipping and then vat import duties. I'm asking if there is a short block new in the UK or Europe. Don't really think all this matching numbers stuff is a real thing on uk supras -
Hi alll, my UK spec needs a rebuild, the saga continues. Compression is down to 90pisi on number 4, all others are around 150psi. So it seems cheaper to buy a short block than rebuild the old one, as it will need over size pistons after a rebore, and just want to keep it totally standard, not after extra bhp with this one Looking for a good deal on a short block new or old stock Any advice much appreciated Cheers Gilly

Thats what the workshop shows.. But I cant understand where the other one has come from... Just started the car.. All seems well...
-
There are 2 vsv there.. All connected and in place...
-
Aint touched the inlet manifold side... That vsv under the throttle cable adjuster is associated with turbo pressure
-
Nope its not that one.. Thats in place and connected
