Im going to keep my eye out for some second hand ones. I know mine are CT20s but does it make a difference if they are CT20 A, B, C or Ds? Not really sure of the differences.

Im already full BPU, twin turbo Auto jap spec. In an ideal world id love hybrids. Im looking at 420bhp as i am now. But honestly right now i don't want to risk paying for hybrids and them popping. Would like a like for like rebuild on the ceramics. Im going to pull the turbos and see what the damage on the housing is. Going forward my options are: 1) buy a second hand twin turbo set and fit them myself. Probably cheapest option. 2) rebuild turbos, stock build no hybrid. From whomever everyone recommends. 3) ride a bike. - - - Updated - - - I was but not immediately. Eventually i will do. But not right now.

Hi all. My TT autos twin turbos are leaking oil like no mans business and the play in the axle is ridiculous. I have been quoted £1600 for a rebuild including labor. I'm pretty handy with a spanner so im looking at taking the turbos out myself and sending them off to get refurbed. Had a quote from CR turbos to rebuild the ceramics for £600 which is fair. I' not going hybrid or single turbo anytime soon. Are there any other shops that are recommended in the Berkshire area or Lancashire area? And as i am going to replace all the gaskets etc can I buy those as a kit from toyota? Exhaust gaskets etc. Thank you in advance. May as well upload a cheeky picture. Spent 6 hours detailing her. Hi all. Thought I'd share my first attempt and restoring my old model blow off valve. It stopped functioning as the seals were worn. Lord knows the age of it but you can take a guess from the pictures. As you can see it looked pretty crap to begin with. Rust and water marks, original polish finish was non existent. I disassembled it which was pretty easy except the C clip which holds the flange to the blow off valve, that was a pain in the ass to reassemble too. I went at it with a wire wheel. Sand paper and file, it gave it a brushed metal look which i prefer over the polished look. I gave it a lick of clear coat too which should prolonge it and also replaced the C clip and seal (£5 off ebay) Finished product.

Hi all. So I've put my Supra into storage for a while whilst I'm getting a few bits sorted for it. Anyway I bought myself another project car to keep myself busy. Toyota Celica T sport 2002 4 previous owners 147k miles 190 bhp VVTL-I Leather seats Dog hair everywhere as standard. This is surprisingly rapid and its my first experience of owning the car. Picked it up for £750 lol the previous owner said it had a rod knock but it was actually pinging. Changed the sparks, flushed the fuel system, carbon cleaned the engine and no more noisy lifters or pinging. My biggest gripe with the car is the God awful gearing ratios and the fact you have to really work to get the most out of the engine at 6200 rpm +. Other than that, a steal for me tbh, will keep me busy whilst the Supes garaged.

So i called admiral up and enquired about classic policy and the gentleman on the phone said the age of the car to qualify as a classic car had been increased to 35 years just this last Thursday. is the general consensus amongst insurers 20 yrs + for a classic car?

Just a quick update: Changed oil for some motul 300v K&N air filter K&N oil filter All fluids changed except coolant as its in good nick and i have a blocked heater core. So will change when thats flushed. Bonnet realigned. Headlights back in. Look lovely. Will convert fogs to hid soon. Oil temp sensor put in sump. Next changes: Quick release Steering wheel NRG hub with quick release and working horn. Will do a write up on how that is done and what parts i used. Dont think someone has covered my method yet. Finishing Uni this month so can fully get this underway. Fingers crossed.

Should have taken some more pictures but work done so far: New fuel filter fitted Machine polished headlights Wired up side lights properly as one was out. Installed missing rubber seals on bonnet end. Wired up the horn finally with a custom made harness which was surprisingly easy. Numberplate put on from demon plates. Top service. FCD fitted. Old one played up Personally love the way headlights turned out. Good as new. UV coated them to seal the lens.

So I have a cowling possibly on the way but no screws can someone be a darling and possibly tell me what the pitch is and length of the steering cowling screws. I assume an M3 pitch just not sure about the length.

Do I have a leaking head gasket/ intake gasket leak? (video)
k222bye replied to k222bye's topic in Supra Chat
I tried but it didn't fit so i let the coolant circulate for while and did this test 3x. Even took a sample of coolant from radiator and did the sniff test on that. Still blue. I'll try get an adapter that comes with them anti spill funnels and do it with them. -

UPDATE The HC sniff test turned out to be good thank God. Followed the procedure, ran car for 20 mins. Watched smoke which was pretty thick but cleared up. Did the sniff test and fluid stayed blue. Did the test 3x and it stayed blue each time. Then i got the tester and put it in the exhaust and immediately the fluid turned yellow. SO NO BHG! It was me just being extremely paranoid but better safe than sorry. Coming from a scooby i have never ever seen a car smoke that much. On a side note my nephew wanted to race. But I accepted defeat. No point fighting a lost battle. -

Levels right now are just below max. I think what i will do is take it for a drive, monitor temps, oil and coolant levels and if there's a change I will let you know. Could it possibly be turbo oil seals? Id rather it be that than gasket. Well... Going to find out soon. -

Mine is definitely not like that. Oh dear. I might aswell start enquiring now :'( how much is it for a head gasket rebuild from whiffbitz? Don't really want to give up on the car. Anyone had one done before? -

The temp goes to about half way and stays there. It warms up gradually. Takes about 10 minutes. And i agree. It looks a lot like coolant -

Really hope it was just condensation but that much smoke, i doubt it -

It's just happened. Haven't had chance to monitor properly but the smoke really alarmed me. -

It was in storage for about 6 weeks. Battery out. Etc. I will do that mate. I'll keep an eye on the levels. I will update this thread when I get the tests done too. On a side note do decatted Supras smoke this much? This is my first Supra, before that I was strictly Scoobys. Had an STI for awhile. -
Hi all. This was taken on a cold day after the car has been sat for awhile. It was billowing white smoking. Surely this cant be condensation? The car is full BPU and decatted. The smoke gradually reduces after awhile but still lingers. See the link for the exhaust smoke. I am doing a Hydrocarbon sniff test this friday or Saturday which will be conclusive. And a compression test. Literally crapping my pants. Really really don't want it to be a BHG issue. Ready for the worst really. VIDEO:
