  1. I have both the boost controller vacuum line as well as my electronic boost controller on the same vacuum line coming from the stock turbo pressure sensor. The rear spoiler is from Whifbitz, a copy of the RMM rear spoiler. It's for sale if you're interested. Flavio
  2. Alex, On the pic below you see a green sticker. Left of the green sticker you can just see the T I used for the vacuum line that goes to the boost controller display. 3. Syed, The HKS EVC Pro is an incredible unit (see http://www.hksusa.com/products/more.asp?id=673) but it uses fuzzy logic. This is fine for a single turbo or twin turbo's in parallel (TTC) but not recommended for sequential turbo's. For the latter the HKS EVC EZ is recommended, which also works well on single turbo's. The APEX'i unit is also not recommended for single turbo (i.e high boost) installations. Most US single turbo specialists use the HKS EVC EZ. It is very simple to use and controls boost well. I have the Blitz SBC-iD with the Power Meter (I'm a gadget freak!) and it makes a nice combo. I have been told that it's also available in Japan with a green display which would match better with the other dashboard lights. Final tip, make sure you don't use the power steering vacuum line for the boost controller display vacuum input, it will give strange results. It's better to T into the standard boost pressure sensor. Flavio http://www.mkivsupras.co.uk/ (Edited by Flavio at 8:14 pm on Feb. 27, 2002)
  4. Arnout's car is supposed to be ready by the end of April. I'll probably go to Billing as well and Fast Frankie (the other soon to be SP57) hopefully too. Flavio (Edited by Flavio at 6:13 pm on Feb. 27, 2002)
  5. Ian, Yes the MK3 is Arnout's car. Sorry about the pic, I will only post it once per topic in the future :-) Flavio
  6. I got a very conservative 540rwhp at 1.6 bar so 600rwhp at 2 bar is not unrealistic. The SP57 is the smallest single turbo out there but for now I don't have a need for anything bigger, it spools just as fast as the stock twins in TTC mode and you have massive top end power if you crank up the boost. Just make sure your fuel system is up to the task. Soon there will be two more SP57's in Holland, one in a MKIV and one in a MK3 with a MKIV engine. 7. Syed, Work started mid January, got all the bugs (i.e. wrong plugs causing massive misfires at high boost) sorted out two weeks ago. Now I need to find a dyno that can handle 600rwhp or so! The car is simply fantastic with the SP57, everyone who has been it has an ear to ear grin after a little demonstration. If you want to read about the installation and the problems that were encountered go to www.supras.nl under Modifications. I have to thank Arnout and his mates for the splendid job they did. 8. Always replace your flywheel when replacing your clutch, whether it looks good or not. You will regret it if you don't. When replacing your clutch you need a new flywheel, new flywheel bolts, new throwout bearing, new pilot bearing, new snap rings. 9. Ash, Have you seen this thread on Supra Forums? http://www.supraforums.com/supravb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13358 It might be the soluition to your problems and not a bad price either! If there is anyone who abuses his autobox in a Supra it's Marko! Flavio http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1391042&a=13943948&p=55937533
  10. Straight from the manual for the 2JZ-GTE (twin turbo) Supra: 6-Speed gearbox: Esso ATF Dexron D-21065 Toyota V160 or oil with similar specifications Auto box: ATF oil Type T-II Flavio http://www.mkivsupras.co.uk/
  11. Alex, I tried to get some Toyota V160 oil myself but it is very hard to get hold of. A fellow MKIV owner suggested using the Esso ATF Dexron D-21065 oil, which is much easier to get and a whole lot cheaper. This Esso oil is also mentioned in the Supra manual and is approved by Toyota for use in the Getrag gearbox. Flavio http://www.mkivsupras.co.uk/ (Edited by Flavio at 9:28 pm on Nov. 6, 2001)
  12. I have the Blitz DSBC as well. I have found that maximum boost is temperature dependant. The colder it gets the lower I have to set my Ratio and Gain. I also think it is car dependant. Most of the guys in the US run much higher settings than mine and have no problem overboosting. Currently I have set them to: Preset 1 Ratio 10 Preset 2 Ratio 15 Preset 3 Ratio 20 Preset 4 Ratio 25 Gain is set to 8. Warning is set to 1,20 with -10. On preset 4 it still boosts up to 1,25 in 6th gear at full throttle. Last week I was careless for a second on a full throttle run and it boosted up to 1,46! Gain was set to 10 at that time. I hope my turbo's have survived. If not I will just have to go for a SP57 kit sooner than I expected :-) I have the DSBC always set to peak hold since I have a n APEX'i electronic boost gauge as well. The latter shows a little more boost than the Blitz unit although both are connected to the same vacuum line. Flavio
  13. What is the easiest way to raise your rev limit? What is a safe limit for a BPU++ car (FMIC, cam gears, underdrive pulleys, Greddy BCC, full catless exhaust & downpipe, boost controller)? Flavio
  14. It is an airbag steering wheel, see the picture, it clearly says SRS Airbag. Flavio http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1391042&a=13841789&p=54947922 (Edited by Flavio at 10:28 pm on Oct. 7, 2001)
  15. Can anyone tell me whether the TRD airbag steering wheel will fit a 1993 MKIV. Will the airbag hook up just as the stock one? Will you lose the cruise control functions? Is it available in all black? What is the cost? Flavio http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1391042&a=13841789&p=54912006 (Edited by Flavio at 10:29 pm on Oct. 7, 2001)
  16. Phil, Okay, I've ordered the HKS kit now. I haven't connected a laptop yet, the only laptop I have runs Windows ME, so no DOS! The TC install was only finished this evening and I was just testing it out. I'll give Stuart a call tomorrow. Flavio
  17. Do you actually notice the difference once it is removed? Flavio
  18. I'm still confused, what does the HKS TC removal kit do that pulling the TRAC fuse doesn't do. If the HKS kit really has benefits I'll buy the last kit from you, Justin. I just need to know for sure it will fit my European spec MKIV. I just installed the Racelogic TC system and it works fine, especially the launch control. Does anyone know how to set the launch control RPM limits to new ones, I can't seem to change them anymore once they're set. Flavio
  19. Does that mean I am right or should I still remove the butterfly (I have a Euro spec MKIV). Flavio
  20. Hi, Can't you just disable the stock TC by pulling the TRAC fuse or pulling the TC plug from the intake manifold? At least that''s what all the US forums are suggesting and it will remove the topspeed limiter as well. Flavio
  21. I have a set of these on my car. They are more pure white looking than blue but the difference between the HID and stock lights is like day and night, the HID have a much higher light output and the pattern is much better. You don't even have to solder anything, the stock connector plugs right into the transformer and the transformer plugs into the HID bulb, which fits in the same place as the stock light. You can use the stock reflector. I ordered mine from www.mvpmotorsports.com, I think the kit was like $635 total. The replacement bulbs cost something like $100 each but if you are careful enough they will last a couple of years. BTW I tried getting them from Philips or Hella in Europe but this kit is not available over here, you have to get it from the USA. They are ofcourse not legal but who is going to notice that they are not stock? The HID lights are not like those tacky yellow or blue fake xenon bulbs. Flavio
  22. Hi Ash, Did you install the TC on Justin's car yet? I will collect my TC tomorrow and will install it next Thursday. I would like to have the terminal schematics of the ABS and ECU computers so I know which wires to solder to. Can you be of assistance? Thanks. Flavio (Edited by Flavio at 9:32 pm on July 13, 2001)
  23. Hi Ash, Thanks again for the detailed description. The only thing I would like to know still is what's inside the control box, is it just a switch, a LED and a pushbutton or is there a PCB inside? From your description it looks like it is relatively easy to install yourself and I will do so. I have spoken to Racelogic UK as well and they can help with schematics for the Supra as well. Let me know your settings and experience when you have actually installed the system. I am sure any MKIV owner would appreciate that. Flavio
  24. Make sure the Auto Off switch is not depressed. Have a look at www.mkiv.com. Under tech articles and parts photos you will find the info you need. Flavio
  25. Allright, good luck with the installation, I look forward to your report. Flavio
